I chose this course of civil engineering as this college is very reputed and it started as a college of civil engineering in 1856. It has a vast history and it is a renowned college of West Bengal. This college has much qualified and experienced faculty all of them have done their PhD from IITs or IISCs. As this college is old many of the faculty are alumni of this college. Their teaching method is good enough as they are well experienced in their fields. In 1st year there was a ratio of 1:95 which reduces in further years . There are mid-term and end-term exams and questions come from the topics taught in the class, the difficulty level is not that much but it is good enough for an NIT college.

Although I'm now a 2nd-year student so I'm not eligible for an internship but seniors get so many internships with many famous companies like Indian Oil. TATA, LnT, Accenture Microsoft, Google etc. Stipends are descent in these companies. Many students get internships at IITs also.

Students are eligible for placement after the 7th or 8th semester . All popular companies visit our college like Google, Microsoft, Indian oils, TATA steel, LnT, Texus, Accenture, TCS etc and more than 90 % of students are placed every year. All of the eligible students get decent placement in our college of all the branches. My plan is to get placement from the college.

The fee structure is like it depends upon parents' income if it is below 1 lakh full waver is there if it is below 5 lakh two third waver is there, and if it is more than 5 lakh then no waver in tuition fees. Hostel and mess fees will be the same for all .and For SC /ST students full waiver in tuition fees is there irrespective of the above criteria ( that criterion is only for general and obc). For full waiver students 5500 academic fees are there per semester only . Many scholarship opportunities are provided by the college itself. Campus Placement is damn good for this college you can check on the college website. It is better than many NIT colleges.

The college has a great social and fest life it has mainly two main annual fests namely REBECA and INSTRUO the largest tech fest of Kolkata .and all branches have their own annual fests for civil it is UDBHABANI and music club EUPHONY has also fest named Oikotaan etc. The college has a big Library containing all engineering branches books research papers etc . college has an amenities building having a club of robotics named ROBODARSHAN. And many clubs are there CATHARSIS for photography and EUPHONY for dance and music. ICHHE is a social program or club providing education to deprived students. A debate club named DEBSOC is there. All clubs are run by students. Social life is best in this college full of greenery and a good environment.

The hostel facility is good enough but there is 4 accommodation in a room up to 3rd year which is not good as compared to other NITs or IITs which provide only 2 occupancies and for 4th year there are halls having single occupancy all basic facilities are provided like washing machine etc. Meal quality is good enough and the menu is decided by the student's representative. Hostel facility and mess is affordable for students only 54000 is for 1 year. The registration process is easy and the hostel is allocated according to come first get first way for those who are eligible ( distance more than about 150 km actually it varies year by year ). PG facilities are easily available nearby the college.

Through JEE Mains Examination admission is taken in this college. Candidate must have taken PCM in 12th. Candidates can easily find a form for jee mains exam on the NTA website application fees for general/ OBC are RS 1000 and for sc /st it is 500. Reservation benefits are provided according to the rule of the NIT plus system given on the website. NTA. Admission is taken according to JOSAA, CSAB Round and Through DASA also.
