Overview of VIT AP from my perspective.

I choose this course because I have more interest in this course than any other course. The faculty: student ratio is good as all the professors have a decent no. of labs and classes to allocate. Almost all the professors have a Ph.D. from reputed universities in their respective fields. The term exams are held in every 1 and half months, they are relatively easy if you put little effort into your studies and stay attentive in class.

The students of 3rd year are requested to avail of an internship at the end of 3rd year so that they pursue a full-time internship during their third year and then have a greater chance and opportunities after the end of the fourth year in the placements. The fee structure of the course is based on the rank secured in VITEEE, ranging from 2 lakhs which go over to 6 lakhs. These are divided into different categories, category 1 has the ranks within 20,000 and the lowest fees. As the category increases the fees increase to 5 lakhs or above. These structures change every year so check out the official website for detailed information. These figures are only the tuition fees and the hostel fees are paid separately.

The name of the tech fest is VTAPP which is conducted in the month of December and the annual fest named Vitopia is conducted in the month of March. The fest is decent and includes the participation of both college artists and out-of-college artists. We have a large no. of books in the college library and if any of the books are not available you can give a request to get them. All the classes have projectors and most of the professors teach through slides. The college has 2 basketball courts,1 tennis court, 1 football ground, and cricket nets for net practice. For indoor sports college has multiple badminton courts, a smash court, 2 table tennis tables in the sports complex, and 1 in each hostel. They also have a wall climbing set up in the sports complex. We do have a lot of clubs and chapters including Microsoft, Google, and CSI. The chapter and clubs are not just for study purposes but also for extracurricular knowledge.

Admission is availed through the VITEEE exam and EAPCET. VITEEE is conducted for students all over India to secure a place in any of the 4 VIT, admission to these VIT is purely based on the rank secured in the VITEEE exam. Admission through EAPCET is only for students from Andhra Pradesh, and has a different selection criteria than VITEEE, and has relatively lower fees and more reservation options. Rank requirements are based on the branch you want, for example, if you want CSE core or CSE with any specialization then you need to secure a rank within 50000, if you get any rank more than that then you have less chances of getting CSE with any specialization even if you pay a higher fees.
