Entrance Preview
I took Karnataka CET. I got a rank 2000,the syllabus for this exam is pretty easy. However now as it is a new university, they have their own exam.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is fairly challenging. However with dedicated hard work,its no big deal to get an 8.5 CGPA. They have options of electives from other department as well.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies come for internship opportunities,however most of them come for CS & IT field. I did my internship from Philips. They offered 20k month.
Placement Experience
Packages go from 15lpa to 3lpa. Almost everyone gets placed,but be aware that infosys and TCS are regular visitors at PESIT,so don't be folled by 100% placement record if you're trying to avoid mass recruiters. If you're in the top 10% of your class,a nice comfortable job is waiting for you.
College Events
Even though the management gets all cranky when it comes to events because they want to show that all they want is to teach and learn this doesn't dampen the spirit. There's something happening every single day. Scientific or cultural,you can participate in tons of events. They have lots of clubs as well such as football,cricket,badminton, volleyball,throwball,basketball,IEEE, Quizzing,MUN.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I heard its 2lac annum now. They take fees once a year,no hidden charges. Apart from 1k month as examination fees.
Campus Life
I don't have a good opinion about labs here,they just have the most basic equipments, but they can arrange anything you need if your research topic and intentions are good. They have their own lab where they're designing a pico satellite,a data centre for CS dept and some very high end oscilloscopes in ECE dept.
Hostel Facilities
Girls hostel is very strict,they don't let them out after 7, and are very strict about it. But facilities are extremely good. Same for boys hostel rooms are very well maintained, and you have 3 types of mess to choose from. I didn't really miss home in ho
Alumni/Alumna
While students mingle a lot with their own batchmates,even from other branchs,interaction with seniors and juniors in minimal. As they have a very strict anti ragging policy, we never get to know our juniors.
Exam Structure
They recently changes their examination pattern. But be sure that if you slack,you'll have to pay for it.
Faculty
Although the standard faculty is average,there are some very good professor who do active research. They're very approachable and have published several papers.
