What Students Say
Likes
- The campus Life , we get to explore a lot of new fields through various clubs.
- The alumni network is very extensive. As the college is established quite long ago we can find a lot of connections
- Exposure through different internship opportunities
Dislikes
- The coding culture is not that great as it should be
- There is intime for girls of about 9pm for 1st years and 10:30 pm for the seniors
- After the intime girls can't go to study in library which I don't think is fair enough
Course Curriculum Overview
Well the papers were not that tough but the time given to us to prepare for it was quite less I believe. Papers were set on the basis of what was taught in class and books were also given to refer from so that we can get a decent score Over all the testing is moderate enough not so easy not so tough depends on how the student puts his/her efforts. All the faculties are PhD doctorate and some are PhD scholars As fas as ik for 1st years they do provide you with PhD scholars but in future all senior faculties guide us . Teaching of some professors is excellent while some of them don't really teach quite nicely . I chose this course as at my score I could not get cse and I wanted a good govt collage so I chose to take electrical and electronics engineering as my stream . Also due to my personal interest I chose this branch . Exams were conducted in a pattern where in we had one mid exam and one end sem exam for one semester
Fees and Financial Aid
Currently the course fee stands at 68000 to 69000 per sem as academic fee and hostel fee for girls is almost 39000 for double sharing and 40000for single seater. There are many scholarships for all the category people all the information is available on the official site of vnit nagpur Currently I'm a 1st year student so the statistics might help to know about the placement which is also available on the official site of vnit
Campus Life
Campus Life is pretty cool. We have a total of 265 acres of area of campus . The annual cultural fest is known as AAROHI, where in we have a lot of competitions organised it is conducted in the month of Oct or Nov . Technical fest is known as AXIS. Various exhibitions are held during the days of fest to explore. We have a building called CRC(classroom complex) where we have AC and non AC classrooms. Every classroom is having a mic system for the professors and a capacity of upto 140 students. For first years an event is organised called intramurals which includes all the sports. Then everyone year institute gathering is conducted where in every branch competes against each other with great sportsmanship. Many clubs are there for students to explore their various interests. Every club is managed by the students themselves. Like we have our music club octaves which is managed by student council of the club
Hostel Facilities
I have opted for hostel myself . For first year we had double sharing room where 2 cots,2 cupboards and 2 study tables are provided. Everything else we need to buy ourselves . Mess food is good enough and eatable and after a certain period of time one can get used to it . For Registration, once you have paid the hostel fee the guidelines will be provided by the institute itself on the website.
Admission
To get admission in a NIT we need to give jee exam . The cutoffs are like 98 percentile and above for cse , 97 and above for ece and 96 and above for eee while I was giving my exam. Cutoffs change every session. The application form for jee will be available on the official site of nta . No extra application form is required for admission in vnit nagpur. The allocation of seat happens through jossa and csab councelling. So the benefit of home state and female quota is also available for female students I believe councelling processes can be improved a bit as a lot of it is based on how you fill your preference list . Even EWS category is available now for all the open people who have income less than 8 lakh annually. So please take note You will need the EWS certificate to qualify to avail the benefits
