Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I choose this course as I always wanted to study this particular course. The faculties are well qualified and interested in teaching, there are exceptions everywhere but most of the faculties are really kind and helpful. The term exams were a little off schedule till now due to the covid impact but according to the curriculum, the exams ahead will be as scheduled. As the schedule was not being followed properly, the students had to face difficulty in syllabus completion and revision along with MAKAUT 's new pattern made it all the way more difficult to predict the paper pattern. Overall, for the upcoming batches, I think it won't be much of a problem and a considerable place to complete their undergrad.

Internships Opportunities

2

Most of the on-campus internships are unpaid and not all students get one so it will be better not to rely on the college for internship. After the second year, any student can ask for a NOC for an internship if there are getting one. Self-made projects play a vital role to grab internships. Focus on your skills and make projects to showcase your skills. Remember to present the project appropriately and on most of the platforms, this increases the chances of getting short-listed.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college does offer campus placement and most of the deserving students get placed. Deserving students as in the ones who have worked hard and have skills get decent package ( 7-11lpa) and then below them are mostly mass-recruited students (3-4lpa ). Best for placement with be built the best skill set and showcase them on LinkedIn. Having a LinkedIn profile is a must !! The highest offer this year was 32lps which was for a single student. According to the stats most of the students are placed. (80%) but some do remain and then are sent to the mass recruiters. I am planning for higher education so the package offered here is not big of a concern for me.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is hiked every year by a considerable amount. Like in my time the total cost of education in these 4years will be some there under 5.5 L ( including college and exam fees) there is some money taken as caution money ( in my case 10k ) which is supposed to be given back to the students if they do not harm the college property during their course period. Students of Bengal get scholarships through various government schemes, do get yours. The college doesn't provide any such scholarship. The college provides a loan facility in terms of assistance and that's all that is known. In recent years the college has given decent placement, many students have a package of 10lpa the average was around 4lps and the highest was around 30lps although very limited students get the highest package. Internships are mostly self gained, the college does provide opportunities but are mostly unpaid.

Campus Life

3

Social life is good enough on campus but to really enjoy that make sure to be friends with seniors as they get to organize almost every fest/ event in the college. There are various clubs focusing on different jaunra. Really a fun place to explore and learn new skills. One such club which I personally will advise every B.Tech student to join is the "coding club" and it is exactly what the name suggests. There are clubs for short films, singing dancing and many more. All these clubs are run by students for students but under the supervision of at least one teacher. The sports meeting is another exciting event for every student on the campus including the teachers. Any sports-loving student will surely enjoy it. The classroom comes with basic amenities like a board, podium, fans, lights, and benches. The infrastructure is still in the making and so some of the labs such as the physics and chemistry labs are shared by TINT and SNU.

Admission

The admission process was pretty smooth. I got admission through Wbjee. Eligibility: One must qualify for the cut-off ( anything below 18k rank might get you into B Tech, CSE ). The students with not-so-good ranks must be patient and opt for the second round of counseling. That's how I got into this college. This college is decent for the rank and is developing at a good pace. In the years to come it will be one of the most infrastructurally developed colleges for the rank. Reservation: The college, on its own, doesn't offer any such reservation, but some reservations can be availed by Wbjee as it gives preference to the students of West Bengal. Fill out the counseling form only after deep research of rank and cutoff. Hold your ground, if you got a college in the first round the mentors there will try their best to get you admitted but trust yourself and opt for the second round. There is a high chance that you will get a better option based on your counseling form.

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
