Remarks
Having a good rank is just an illusion. This college isn't worth the hype it has among the colleges. It doesn't have on-campus hostels for girls. There is one but it is far away. The authority has provided a bus for commutation between the college and the hostel but this bus is too small for even 40 students. Girls have to sit on the bus doorsteps. It is a risk for their well-being. When students get on this one bus, it gets so full that you can't even move your arms. Some have to sit on the step while the bus is running. Overall, Bangalore Institute of Technology is a nice college in terms of studies and placements. The college life is limited with less area under the college. Skipping classes gets tough due to the same reason. But, the college is lenient regarding attendance except for the mechanical department.
Entrance Preview
I got into the College through KCET. The KCET works on bases of ranks i had secured 18865 as my rank and Ended in BIT in the 3rd round of KCET. There was no interview held during admissions, but the college made sure it took only the students with top ranks.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course went quite well, though it was difficult for me in the beginning as i had no knowledge of electronics from my PU , the college faculty helped me out really well. Individual attention was Given to each one of us. Well, though the teaching was good, there were no practical learning, examples were given but never shown to us . It was just from the book to our brains. Nothing out of that! The college lack Research initiatives , literally nothing. As i said , just the Book and us.
Internships Opportunities
You will be allowed to take up internships between semesters. College will provide you with a letter of consent, though the internship is not provided by the college. You can look up and find one for yourself.
Placement Experience
In this college, so many IT companies come and take many students. Most of the famous IT companies come such as Microsoft, Mu Sigma, Accenture and core companies also come such as Robert Bosch so we can say that the placement is good in my college. The senior batch placements were also good. Most of them got selected in IT companies. Roles offered to students are managing posts. The lowest salary offered is 3.1 lacs and the highest is 9 lacs. The placements in the college are good. One needs to maintain above 7 CGPA to achieve a good package. The average package for EEE department is 4L per annum. All from my senior batch are placed in IT companies (out of those who were eligible). Core companies rarely come to the college. So it's an advice that if one wants to get place from the electrical department, maintain a 7+ CGPA.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The price was quite less through KCET when compared to COMEDK and Management Seat. I was asked to pay just 26250 rupees for the entire year including all Library, classroom charges. I had already paid 50510 rupees for KCET for the allotment processes too. It is affordable by a normal working person. But seats through COMEDK go up ,its around 1.5 lakh and through management it goes up to 13 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
Scholarship is not provided by bank. They give you only bonafeid certificate which helps you in getting loan from any banks. No any special loan facility provided by the bank.
Campus Life
Again, this is not much of a cultural or extra curricular activities based college. There is a fest every year and few tedx events. Annual sports and even college teams for vtu. If you're not interested, you wouldn't even know about their existence. There is no college ground. It's in the core of the city. Apart from the buildings there's hardly any space to even walk around.
Hostel Facilities
I dont reside in the college hostel, but heard it from my friends, the hostel people are quite strict, it has to even cut a cake on a Birthday because your charged fine even for that, the food is good . The rooms are shared up to 4 in a room. The college has PG only for girls, well i never heard about the fees for them but may be around 2 lac a year.
Alumni/Alumna
College has its own alumni committee and trust having its own office in the college. That help students a lot in curricular and Co curricular activities.
Exam Structure
Its kind of a chill culture, not much of stress. The exams were not that frequent they were just once in a month and would last just 3 days, labs were once in a week and were quite comfortable to manage. Overall it was a really chilled out weeks excluding the exam week.
Faculty
Can't say how experienced the teachers really are, because each one has a different work experience, on a base one will have a minimum of 2 years of experience. Which doesnt make them a Junior nor a Senior teacher but makes them perfect for the Job.
