A Honest Review of NITR CSE student

Due to development in Data science, AI, Ml the demand for CSE students is high and there is the possibility of high salary packages. Apart from the handsome package, I'm keenly interested in coding and development and solving real-life problems so I opted for CSE in NIT Rourkela. The faculty-student ratio is NITR is about 10% All the teachers are well qualified and only those faculty are allowed who are having Phd degree. Their method of teaching is quite well. We have one mid-term exam and one end-semester exam in a semester. It's not that difficult to pass exams but yes you have to study without study you can pass which a very small margin

for Summer internships the students of 2nd to 3rd year are eligible in Btech and for Mtech they are eligible in the first year. it is usually about 6 to 8 weeks long and conducted during the summer month. Apart from this winter internships are also provided from Dec to January and are short duration. Institutes have good relations with various companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, and Bharti airtel and these companies provide internship opportunities to NIT R students. A total of 403 internship was offered an average stipend of 40k and the highest stipend of 1.25 lakh was given. for getting these internships one should have a strong grip on DSA, OOPS, OS, Dbms, Networking and problem-solving skills should be very high. Apart from this, your resume should outstand with unique projects.

Typically students become from the 7th semester for placements in B.tech and 3rd semester in M.tech. Companies visited and offers made: NIT R attracts a wide range of companies for placements. Some of the well-known are: Amazon, google Microsoft, Samsung R&D, Deloitte , Infosys, TCS etc The total number of companies visited in 2022 was 325 and a total of 1300+ offers were made and 100 new recruiters. The highest package was 48.48 LPA and the average package was 12 lpa for Btech students in the 2022 placements drive. The percentage of students got placed in 2022 was more than 95% in various companies. As of now, I'm just looking for a decent job at well-known tech organisations.

Fees structure at NITR is almost the same as other NIT's For the first year, one has to pay a total of 124k which includes caution money, hostel rent, tuition fees etc for 2nd to 3rd year it remains at 99k for each year. for the fourth year, there are convocation fees of 2500 extra. tuition fees are exempted based on family income and caste for SC/ST/PH income < 1 lakh has a full tuition fee waiver. for income less than 5 lakh and more than 1 lakh has to pay one-third of tuition fees for income more than 1 lakh has to pay full fees There are various scholarships opportunities at NITR 1. PMS (post-metric scholarship) for SC/ST students 2. TCS(top class scholarships) for all students given by TCS 3. NTS (national talent scholarship( (GOL) 4. ONGC scholarship

In NIT Rourkela , fests are held throughout the academic year, some of them are NITRUTSAV, INNOVISION, VRIDDHI etc INNOVISION- the flagship tech fest: attracts and house tech - enthusiasts all over the nation and it is held in the first week of November. NitrUtsav: Official cultural fest of Nit Rourkela is held in February. People from all over the state come and witness the three-day event. A wide range of literary and cultural events are organised with celebrity nights. NitR has a central library called Biju Patnaik central library. The central library has 86k+ books on science and technology, 7500+ theses, and 8000 eJournals. It nice place to study and it is fully air-conditioned. Classrooms are fully airconditioned and have projectors for better learning. SAC student activity centres are here where various student activities are performed. Clubs are Synergy (dance club) pantomime (art group) film and music society. It has more than 50 clubs and societies.

The hostels are NIT R constitutes of 700 rooms and rooms are single rooms, and twin rooms. there are a total of 10 halls like CV Raman hall, dhirubhai ambani hall etc and there is one hall for married student apartments. Meal quality is quite good and there is a dining hall for mess food. The menu has a variety. They provide breakfast lunch, evening snacks and dinner. After getting admission at NIT R hostel committee send forms to students who wish to opt for hostels. Students need to fill in personal details and preferred roommates. After filling this allotment process is started and rooms are provided. Talking about affordability, it's affordable and one can get rooms like single seater and twin rooms. One can get a rented room in Panposh and in sector 19.

For getting admission to any NIT you have to JEE mains exams which are held is February and May month every year conducted by NTA(National testing agency). For the CSE branch in NIT Rourkela, one has to score 99.8+ percentile for another state quota. The application form is available on the Jossa website and its fee for general, OBC category boys is 1000 rs. while for girls is 800 rs. yes, I'm availing the benefit of the General EWS quota. This quota has 10% reserved seats for EWS students. The students belong to the economically weaker section. Yes, there is a need to improve the admission process, one can't pay a seat admission fee as high as 40k. It should be less than 20k and the partial admission fee should also be less.
