Remarks
There are no bad remarks about the college and faculties as such. The teaching methods are very good but can still be improved. The faculties are very supportive, friendly and down to earth. My overall experience in the campus so far was amazing. Dayanada sagar college of engineering is one among the top 10 colleges and has the most beautiful campus compared to many colleges in Bengaluru.
Entrance Preview
I took up K-CET entrance exam and opted this college in the selection process, as Dayanada sagar is one of the best institutions with beautiful campus. There was no interview process as such. I chose Telecommunication engineering course because it is a field that offers diversity, scope for creativity, a dynamic environment with an increasing demand in the market.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is pretty good. The department focuses on disseminating the knowledge of devices, systems, and technologies that are impacting the telecommunication field. The focus on practical learning is given more importance. And yes, research initiatives are also taken by the institute. Regarding elective subjects, we have a range of options. And the subjects which I had an option to choose as elective subjects in my present semester(7th) were operating systems, real-time systems and embedded system design.
Internships Opportunities
The college has provided few Internships. But I was not a part of it so I do not have much idea about it. but my friends did go to the internships and they used to say that the internships were very good and helped to gain more knowledge.
Placement Experience
Placements at Dayananda Sagar are always the best compared to other colleges and is also of a very good standard. Around 60% of the students are already placed with very good package. Major companies like Dell, HP, Infosys, Accenture, Mahindra convivia, Juspay, Oracle, Tech Mahindra etc have visited the campus. The average package is 3 lakh-4 lakh per annum.
College Events
The college organizes many Technical, Cultural (Intra-college as well as inter-college) and managerial events every semester (like Vibrations, Furore, Ted ex, etc). The volunteers and other authorities coordinate the fests and events so well. The organization and college authorities take the whole responsibility and contribute for the entire event.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As my admission to the college was based on my CET criteria, the amount I paid for this year (2017-2018) as academic fees was around Rs.69000 (including exam fees). The fees structure varies a little every year, although all four years I have paid fees in the range Rs.61000 - Rs.69000. Whereas admissions through COMED-K and management have different fees structure. We did not have to pay any extra fees as such. But we had to deposit an amount of Rs.2000 for the books to borrow from the library, only after which we are allowed to borrow books, and this amount will be refunded back to us after completing the 4-year course.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes. Scholarships are provided by the college. No, I did not avail any.
Campus Life
In terms of extracurricular activities, many indoor and outdoor games are available inside the campus. There are good opportunities to explore our talents. The facilities are very good.
Hostel Facilities
No. I do not reside in hostel. But I do know few things about the college hostel. There are no single rooms as such. The rooms are shared among 3 students. PGs are also located nearby. The payment is quite reasonable and the food is also good.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes. There were many motivational talks, seminars etc by our alumni regarding building up our career. They have shared their experiences about the college and experiences at work place as well. The college has provided platforms for student-alumni interactions. The alumni have contributed in the overall development of the college and students as well.
Exam Structure
The labs are conducted on a regular basis where we never felt as exhausting. And the exams are also conducted on a regular basis where we never used to feel it so hectic. Yes, it is a chill culture.
Faculty
The Faculties in our department are very well qualified where most of them are Ph.D. and Doctorate holders, and well-experienced in teaching where most of them have 10 years of experience and few faculties with 4-5 years of experience. The sessions are quite interactive and the standard of teaching is good (usage of power point presentations, seminars, real life problem solving examples). A number of events and activities, mini projects are conducting related to a particular subject and the winners are encouraged and motivated with awards and certifications.
