i will again say NITK is a top institute in INDIA and the knowledge u get here from faculties and surroundings is unmatchable.

I PARTICIPATED IN CCMT-2016 AFTER QUALIFYING GATE 2016. I GOT SEAT FOR M.TECH. IN REMORE SENSING & GIS IN NITK THROUGH NSR. ONE OF MY B.TECH. BATCH MATE WAS ALREADY HERE IN SAME BRANCH SO HE TOLD ME ABOUT THE SUBJECT...AND IT FELT GREAT SO I DECIDED TO COME HERE AND JOIN THE COURSE.

The course Remote Sensing & GIS is a new type of research field and pretty interesting one as we get to work on satellite data we analyse these data for several natural and physical phenomenon taking place at earth. The course itself is very exciting. we got to learn about various new softwares like ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine, QGIs, ENVI and many others. with this course we can opt elective like marine structures, urban development, surface water hydrology as well which can go side by side to main remote sensing course plan. College is also very progressive about thus course. We got permission to do our summer internship at IIRS, Dehradun. Several guest lectures about new softwares n concepts were organised by college regarding practical learning for students. This course might help you in getting in various esteemed research institutes of India like ISRO, IIRS, IIST, NRSC, IISc, IITs for further study, research, internship, Major Project and job as well.

we did internship at IIRS but for other branch and students who are willing to do internship at college they can do in college only. It doesn't have any stipend as we already get our stipend for our M.Tech. course. Otherwise students of Mechanical branch who went outside in companies for internship they got much more around INR 20000-25000 as stipend.

fee is affordable. its not too much. GATE students get stipend of INR 12400/- per month so it helps a lot. while admission it went upto 81,000 approx which has increased upto 85000 for first sem admission including hostel rent too. all the money deposited in CCMT is balanced here during admission. next three semester we have to different amount which ranges from 60000-73000 depending on semester and hostel room accommadation.

Yes college provide scholarship to SC/ST students for education and free Laptop distribution as well. Financially Incapable students can take education loan form authority also.

sports, technical, cultural fests and all the activities are very helpful in your inner grooming. and the best thing is to know the different south Indian culture for various north Indian students here which we get exposed to.

My hostel experience is also good. Although home is home but still its ok in comparison of other hostel experiences which i had. for first year rooms were for sharing but in second year we get separate single room. Hostel rent is almost 23000 for each semester. each hostel block has its own mess. NITK has total 11 hostels for boys and separate for girls also. You can use bicycle for hostel to department route. Electricity is there always. NITK has its own beach so we have a sea view and a place for enjoyemnet also.

Yes college has very wast n good alumni network. They regularly contribute in college development.

Lab sessions are the real time of enjoyment for remote sensing students. working on so fine resolution and typical complexion data and getting results from those data about any of the phenomenon occurring there is a good experience.

The only factor which encouraged me to take admission here is level of knowledge present here. its in bulk. Faculties are so knowledgeable, well mannered and helping that you will feel blessed to be here. They help you for your projects your queries and even Your Hostel problems also. Every faculty is from top Indian Institute experienced in his field.
