Remarks

I love the college and the people it has given me. I have explored a lot of myself in the college and will always thank the college for this. Every college has some good and bad points and I love my college despite everything. I am growing here and I am loving it.

Entrance Preview

I did not write any entrance exam and was selected purely on the basis of merit. There was no interview process required for taking admission in JMC as it is Delhi University (government university) college and takes students on the basis of merit, i.e, on the basis of class 12th board marks. I chose this college because I read about its scope in future and I had commerce stream in my 12th standard.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Jesus and Mary College is one of the reputed colleges of Delhi University so no doubt, the education one gets here is exceptionally great. The course curriculum is uniform throughout the university so all colleges study the same course. I personally feel that the course is a bit redundant, I don't know if it was only for the first year or I might see a detailed version of the course in the future but right now, I think that the course could be little more comprehensive. As of now, I haven't seen any practical learning thing. I didn't have any elective option in my first year.

Internships Opportunities

I have heard that there is a placement cell in our college which takes care of the final placements and the internships but since I was in first year as of now, I did not get a chance to know more about it because I didn't need any internship as of now. Some seniors did internships but I don't know if they got it from the college or they got it on their own.

Placement Experience

3

From what I have heard, I can say that the overall placement is slightly above average. It is good for commerce department students. I have no idea about the companies, but I have heard of the company E&Y. I don't know average package too. Not many students sit for placements because they want to go for higher studies.

College Events

5

Our college has so many societies that I cannot even count. Every week, there are at least 2 events organized in the college and students enjoy it a lot. I personally love the Onam celebration which our college hosts and I too wore a traditional saree. An annual college function is also organized every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is very affordable as it is a Delhi University college. Everyone wants to get in a Delhi University college because of its high quality education at an affordable fee. The fee for my course is somewhere around Rs. 10000- Rs. 15000 per year of this three-year course in JMC. Individual fee varies from one college to another in DU.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have no idea if my college provides any scholarship. However, mine is a government college, so I think that there must be some schemes running to help the students who do not belong to a very good economic background.

Campus Life

4

There are many societies in our college, like, sports society, dance society, debating society and all of them provides a lot of opportunities to the students to improve their personality. I did get ample opportunities to explore my inner talent.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I haven't availed the hostel facility but some friends of mine live in the hostel. Some friends of mine, like the hostel and some of them, don't like the hostel. Overall, the hostel is hygienic and food quality is above average. I don't know much details.

Alumni/Alumna

Our college does have alumni meets and so, a proper platform is maintained for the interaction. My seniors help me a lot when I face problems in academics and they also guide me for future prospects. I think they surely contribute in the overall development of the college as well as the students

Exam Structure

We have 2 exams in one semester. Internal assessment in form of mid-sem exams and assignments and projects submissions goes on regularly. End semester exams happen in December and May. I do not find the exam culture of my college, a chilled one.

Faculty

3.5

Our teachers are very good and are quite qualified. They have deep knowledge about their subjects and are able to give a great insight into the subject. They teach from books, give notes, give us case studies and we really enjoy it a lot. They are so friendly that we can approach them for anything. As of now, until my this third semester of mine, I have had a great experience with the college faculty. Some teachers aren't that good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

Placement Experience:

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
