Course Curriculum Overview
I chose the course because I like to learn about electrics and veruly much interested for learn it. Faculty to student ratio is good enough. Most of the faculties hold Ph.D. and many teachers are indulged in research and their teaching method is just awesome except a few. Exams are almost monthly because you have to give quiz for each subject . One quiz before and one after mid sem. They are not at all difficult to pass
Internships Opportunities
A lot of internships are provided. A recent intership was from SERB with a stipend of 5000. But you should havea cgpa of 7.5+ for the internship. Also a research internship was from NITK with a stipend of 5000. These are the basic level internships.
Placement Experience
At the start of 7th semester. You can apply for the placements. Many prestigious companies like Adobe, Infosys , Microsoft, Texas come to the college and offer a huge number. Microsoft gives the package of around 60LPA wand Texas gives about 50 LPA and many more. Highest was 57 LPA. In IT Branch, 99.8% placement In CSE Branch, 98% In ECE, 95% IN EEE, 93% I am in EEE Branch, I am preparing for gate hopefully if I got selected in gate I would go for it.
Fees and Financial Aid
For Gen candidate student, total 4 years fee will be 8-9 Lakhs. For SC category students, scholarship is provided in tuition fee (full exemption). Also the scholarship is provided on the income basis. There are a lot of scholarships for girls and specially abled persons.
Campus Life
INCIDENT is the annual cultural fest and ENGINEER is the annual tech fest. Incident is conducted in the month of March Engineer is conducted in the month of October. Almost all the books are available in the library Classrooms are well equipped with projectors and fans and tubelights. Sports facilities and extra curricular activities on the campus are damn good. Lot of the clubs are run by the students and many of them are international. Here, we have TED-X, IEEE, ACM, IET, ROBOCON and many more international clubs.
Hostel Facilities
For the first years, triple sharing rooms are given . Rooms have fan, three beds, charging and lan port. The size of the room is okay. Meal quality is justike mess. You should not expect the quality to be very good. However it depends on the mess. Menu is diversified. A link is generated on the IRIS website. The official app for the NITK.
Admission
The admission process is simple. You just have to do good in JEE MAINS. And then by josaa counselling you can get admission.You can also get admission through CSAB SPECIAL round. For physical reporting at institute you have to be very patient as it was a hectic day. Reservation is as per the government norms. You need 2 or 3 percentile less than GEN Catogary student. Admission process is smooth that there is no need for any improvement.
