Course Curriculum Overview
Chemical engineering will be one of the most demanding and irreplaceable branches of engineering that why I choose it. The faculty ratio is roughly 1:60 for theory classes and 1:10 for practicals. Almost all of our faculty are Ph.D. scholars with at least a patent granted to them for their contributions. Usually, a semester goes on for 5-6 months, with mid-semester held around 3 months and quizzes around 2 and 4th months, and at last end sem. Exam questions are of good level which requires your understanding and conceptual clarity which is one of the good points here.
Internships Opportunities
Internship season will start around the 5th semester for btech students with big tech companies such as Google (for SDE), Microsoft (SDE, data science), Goldman Sachs (analyst), Texas Instruments, and Nvidia with a stipend of 1 lakh + per month. Of course, if such companies are coming they expect top thinkers and skillful. Candidates, so we prepare with software projects and coding rounds for tech and learned knowledge for the core.
Placement Experience
Around the 7th semester, placement season starts with tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, de shaw, Goldman Sachs, etc. coming around the first week. The highest package usually goes around 55 lpa(data science and SDE) while the lowest is around 4-5 LPA. Around 85% of students get placed. I plan to mostly work for a while.
Fees and Financial Aid
Around 71000 would be a semester's fee including tuition fees and co-curricular activities fees. We have scholarships to aid students belonging to OBC, sc, and st students with varying tuition fee waivers. Tuition fee waivers are also given to students whose family's financial condition is weak.
Campus Life
Our annual Fest Incident is South India's 2nd largest fest. 3-4 days of night shows, a variety of stalls, lots of fun events, open mic commentary, cosplay event stunt shows and the list goes on.. conducted in March. Tech Fest is an Engineer with all sorts of engineering domain exhibitions usually conducted around November. Our library holds a collection of 89,764, books in total from computer science to history and culture. Classrooms have advanced sitting amenities with good sunlight and also charging ports at benches. Among all NIT I think our college has ground for every sport you will name. Badminton, basketball, hockey, kabbadi, table tennis, tennis, and volleyball, we have all courts and grounds for them along with a well-equipped gym.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms have good sunlight, wardrobe, table, and fan but its washrooms are a mess. Some of the hostels' messes provide good to eatable food, while others are average. The hostel will be allotted after paying semester fees and hostel fees through our website. All students have to pay the same hostel fees of around 31000.
Admission
Admission was through Jee's mains rank, which is done through Jossaa counseling after Jee advanced, and the cut-off was around 15,000 crl. I was the general candidate with a rank of 13,749 so I got into the second round itself in chemical engineering at NITK.
