Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is pretty up-to-date. It is actually to the mark according to industry standards. Most of the professors are also very friendly. It is also one of the best colleges for research. Professors are always ready to assist you in research if anyone wants to do it. There are 88 students in our batch. I chose the course because it is one of the most in-demand courses in today's time. Also in the future also this industry is not going to slow down. The oil and gas industry is going to be there and also research opportunities in this field are maximum. The faculty members have mostly done P.hd And are really skilled. The term exams are difficult and it can be around the corner anytime.
Internships Opportunities
Most of the core and non-core companies come to the college for internship opportunities. Various roles are offered to students ranging from roles in core sectors to analytics roles. If a company is impressed by the intern during the internship period then they provide a P.P.O.
Placement Experience
The placement scenario at our college is pretty good. Nearly all the students looking for placement get placed. The average package is around 11 lakhs and the highest package is above 50 lakhs. Most of the companies in the core and analytics sector come to our institute. My plans are to get a good placement after getting the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is around 8 lakh rupees for the four years. Including the hostel and mess charges. There are several scholarships available for students whose parents lie in the category of economically weaker section. There are different slabs alloted for it. And also there are many scholarships which are provided by the college, state governments, and many other organizations which one can apply for.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is pretty chill. The annual tech fest which is Innovision is conducted normally in the month of November and the annual sports fest which is VRIDDHI is generally conducted in the month of October. Most of the books can be availed in the library and new books are always being added. The classrooms are well equipped. The sports facility is decent and a new indoor facility is coming now. There are many clubs that are run by students on the campus.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is pretty good. The hostel in which I am staying is one of the largest hostels. It is a double occupancy hostel. The meal given here is not that great but eatable. There are many eateries that one can try if he does not like messy food. One has to register for the hostel online and he will be alloted through the online portal only.
Admission
I took Jee Mains exam in the year 2021 and after that, I sat for jossa counseling. I filled the order of my branches after consulting some of my seniors at school. I selected only the branches of NIT Rourkela as it is one of the top NITs and it is near my home. I sat for csab and in the end, I got into chemical engineering at NIT Rourkela. There were some requirements like keeping 75 percent in the 12th board to qualify for this college but at my time due to covid, it was revoked. The application form is available on the jossa website and its fee is around 2000 rupees.
