- The biggest con of this college is it's fee structure which is damn low
- The fest organised namely "QUEST" is the best compared to other colleges. Attend it to agree!!
- Teachers keep you updated about various events and internships.You can build your personality on a high note by grabbing those opportunities.
Dislikes
- Campus is too small. Shuru hote hi khatam ho jata hai, anyways as mentioned earlier, your company will decide your campus life. With good companion no campus is small enough.
- Teaching style needs to modernized. The professors are highly experienced and skillful, however sometimes we feel a lack of connection between us.
- Facilities of library can be improved. The librarian of the reading section is rude , doesn't allow anyone to sit.
Course Curriculum Overview
Each class consists of 100 students and seperate professors are assigned for different topics. The college doesn't conduct any mid term exams. End semester examinations are conducted by Calcutta University(CU). Yes the recent trend shows it's pretty challenging to score decent in university exams. One night study won't be enough for theoretical papers,you need to be aware throughout the semester. However CU also conducts MCQ exams for certain subjects. It's very beneficial for those pursuing any professional course along with it as majority of the subjects are 120% similar.
Internships Opportunities
Teachers always keep you updated about various events and internships. Internshala and mycaptain are continuously in touch with the college students. The placement cell is very active. Companies like byjus, Deloitte ,airtel and other such companies come for an offer.
Placement Experience
Very few students opt for placements as maximum of them continue with professional courses. But last year the highest package was 18LPA. Also recently THE INDIAN ARMY was in discussion to conduct an orientation in college to hire students for a post of an accountant in the Army.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee charged is very low. The college charges around 300 as tuition fees per semester along with examination fees of ?500. The students of west Bengal get access to vivekananda scholarship. It's the biggest benefit to pursue this course in such a low cost.
Campus Life
The campus is pretty small however it becomes great if you have good friends. The college has a library which ends the need to buy any book from outside. You can issue the book for whole semester. Classrooms are pretty well maintained even though it's a government college. Students get access to lift. The infrastructure is pretty good as far as a government college is concerned. The college recently is in discussions of introducing marshal arts. Other than this the college already has facility of table tennis ,carrom, cricket and football.
Admission
No admission test was conducted. Got admission on the basis of std 12 marks. However cut off usually goes upto 93% for general category students. For SC/ST it goes upto 81%. Upto 15 merit lists are published and also option for wish list appears after that. You need to keep yourself updated about the website. As you get only few hours to confirm your admission after your name appears on the list.
