Course Curriculum Overview

I selected this course because I want to make a career in finance and this course teaches the required curriculum for the same. Goenka has experienced and professional faculties. The faculty-student ratio is around 1:80. In the curriculum, one internal assessment and semester-end examinations are conducted in every semester.

Internships Opportunities

Companies like Titagarh Wagons Ltd, Future First info service Pvt Ltd, and Insplore Consultants Pvt Ltd offer several internship and placement opportunities. Overall a great opportunity for those who want to gain experience and get started with a basic minimum stipend.

Fees and Financial Aid

Since Goenka is a fully owned government institution, the fee structure is extremely affordable, and very minimal. Fees structure can be regarded as the best part of Goenka. There are also several scholarship opportunities for the students given based on merit. Also, internships and placements are conducted for every final year students.

Campus Life

Goenka's annual fest is called Quest, which is conducted in the month of November. It is a 3-day long fest including cultural, and business events where every student gets the opportunity to take part. There is a library which has a huge number of books related to the curriculum and any student can issue books using their library card. Any student can avail of the facility of a reading room as well. Sports day is also held by the college and becomes a great opportunity for many. There are several social groups run by students who can represent Goenka in various inter-college fests.

Admission

One has to clear class 12 board examinations in the commerce stream and must score above 85% to be eligible for admission to this esteemed college. Application forms are smoothly available online and one can fill up at their convenience with a minimal application fee. It would be better if an entrance test is conducted for admission instead of taking class 12 marks into consideration.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
