Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Mechanical Engineering as it was my passion from the beginning. There is a good amount of faculty support as far as teaching and mentoring is concerned. It's good here. The faculties are very well qualified and are their teaching methods have evolved into the modern ones involving ppts and real-life demonstrations. The duration of exams are nearly around 6 months at the end of each semester. It is completely subjective about the difficulty of the exam as it solely depends on how you study and how you grasp the subject or say the course.
Internships Opportunities
We were vocational trainees under various companies such as SAIL, Rkl and HAL, Koraput. There were no such major projects given to us. We were just meant to assist them and learn about the things we were taught in class in practical real life situations.
Placement Experience
Students from the 7th semester are eligible to sit in companies. The highest package here depends on how you perform in the interview. Depending on that some of my seniors have recieved packages of more than 10 LPA and as senior executives or managerial positions. Around 70-80% of students get placed in the placement drives. I'm personally planning to go for higher studies rather than sitting in placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is as per my knowledge good and is right for the number of services we are provided here. Here mainly the students avail the government-approved scholarships which are mainly given to the reservation category of students. There is no such financial assistance provided here for normal students.
Campus Life
Here we have Aarohan as our annual fest and Horizon as our major tech fest they are mainly conducted in the month of April-May. We are provided with a well-equipped library and all kinds of books and journals are available here and it is completely beneficial for us to have such a thing. In classrooms also we are provided with the smart board and teaching is gone a lot level up. A lot of clubs such as cricket club, football club, volleyball club and many other sports clubs are in this college and moreover, we have dance clubs, drama club, photography club and even music club which contributes to making the college lively.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel Facilities are not the best, not the worst. They are just average. Meals are good some days and some days are not so good. Hostels are to be opted from the beginning and we have 5 hostels for boys and 2 hostels for girls. We pay around 46000 every year being a boy but girls have different fees structure for hostels.
Admission
The course was meant to be for the ones qualified by JEE Mains. We registered for the counseling via online mode through the state portal and there were 3 rounds of selection after which we were allotted to our respective colleges. I would suggest that the admission process should involve a direct in person PI for a better overview of students.
