Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was always passionate about commerce and always wanted to enter this field. There are about 5-6 faculties for each subject and almost 100 students per section. Almost all the faculties are PhD holders and highly experienced. The semester exams take place after every six months and are almost easy to pass.
Placement Experience
The placements are for the final semester students and take place just before their final exams. Some of the big 4 companies like Deloitte visit the college for placement. The highest package of the college was 18.5 LPA and the average is around 8 LPA. Very Few percentage of the crowd gets placement here. You need to have a very good academic record. I think I'll try for placement.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of the college are quite minimal as they charge around 1100 per semester including examination fees. Also, some of the big companies come here for placements just before the sixth-semester examinations.
Campus Life
The campus life is not so great but fine. There are few fests organised during the year. The annual fest of the college is called 'Quest'. The college library is quite big and has almost every book you'll need. You can issue 2 books at a time with the Library card they provide you. The classroom has a smart board but not used. The annual sports take place every year. The Students Union is run by a group of students.
Admission
The admission process was quite easy. I didn't have to take any entrance test, the 12th board percentage was the criteria for admission. The application form can be found on the website of Goenka College of Commerce and business administration. The reservation benefits are available for the west Bengal board students. It'd be good if they provide reservation benefits for all or maybe to none.
