Likes

College friends they are very friendly and social.
College Fest and other college events which occur inside the campus.
Street food outside college campus, varieties of food are available.

Dislikes

Infrastructure, small rooms to study and fans don’t work properly.
Few teachers doesn’t teach properly, they come and speak on their own and go.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue MBA after graduation and BCom Accountancy was a relevant course to opt for. The faculty is good but only a few teachers. They are well qualified. Only a few of them have good teaching techniques.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 900 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are offered from the 6th semester and this year no placements were there. 20% of students get placements from college and other students didn't get any placements. My plan is to do MBA from a good business school.

Fees and Financial Aid

Very minimum fees anyone can afford. That's the reason I chose this college. Fewer fees and good experience of study. The fee is low there is no need for a scholarship middle class can easily pay the fee.

Campus Life

There are no clubs on the college campus. We have a very vast library which ends when we take a few steps. There are no extracurricular activities on our college campus. Only we have carrom and table tennis.

Admission

Merit base Admission, no entrance exam. Online application for admission, no offline process was available, everything was online... I got reservation benefits. No improvement is needed everything is good.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
