Dislikes
- The campus is very little. No playground for playing football, cricket. But it has a underground where you can play theses stuffs.
- The number of students in CSE is very high. So you've to study hard to get the highest package from others.
- The fee's structure is very expensive compared to other colleges in West Bengal.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being a tech enthusiast from my childhood, I thought that is the perfect course for me. So I pursue computer science engineering at UEM. Here the facilities are really helpful and teach you as best as they can. The faculty: student ratio is about 1:50 . Here 2 term exams and 1 main semester is conducted every 6 months and if you are focused on your daily classes you can easily pass the exam with good marks.
Placement Experience
The placement is very great in our college. More than 92% students of every year got placed in many companies like TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, MindTree, Oracle, Infosys, etc. The average package is around 4.5 lakh/annum. Some of the students also get a 10lakh+ package. So in conclusion, if you only focused on your placement then obviously take admission to UEM.
Fees and Financial Aid
At UEM, the fee structure is very high among the other colleges in West Bengal. The course fee for B.Tech [CSE] is around 6.21 lakh for 4 years. In terms of scholarship- Yes, you'll get a scholarship of around 10k-60k based on your class 10 and class 12 marks. On the other hand, if you belong to poor financial background then University may reduce your semester fees, and some of my friends got this opportunity. This is helpful for meritorious students.
Campus Life
The campus of UEM is not big as you watch in movies. The campus is very compact, having a little football ground backward from the main building. Yes, here you can borrow any book from the UEM library free of cost. There are many clubs, and social groups that conduct many feasts like ECSTISIA, URECKON, EUTHOPIA, etc., and many more. Admission
After finishing my High Secondary exam I went to their admission center - ashram building, Sector V, Kolkata, WB and reserved my seat for CSE brunch. After getting my HS result I got admission to UEM, Kolkata. The criteria for getting admission were - you have scored a minimum of 80% in your class 10 ( Madhyamik) & class 12 HS exams which I've already fulfilled. Yes, a reservation facility is available here. It will help me to get CSE as a brunch easily rather than get to AI-ml, IoT, and CST. Overall the admission process was smooth.
