What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the oncampus placements though I was placed almost in the last but the college offered companies for placements. Other than this I hated things like no fests or events in college
- The course fees are reasonable if you don't give any extra donations.
- Few of the teachers of our department who gave their best.
Dislikes
- It is said as Oncampus placements but the real fact is you have to go to other cities like kolkata for the placement exams etc. So it is not really oncampus as it is being said.
- No events or fests in the college and it's really very boring for someday who comes in the hope of having a mixed college life.
- College has number of bad teachers who prefer muck learning rather than making you understand.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because Electronics and communication engineering(ECE) is an evergreen branch and I will have expertise in both core as well as IT fields simultaneously. The faculty of our department ECE is good provided you work on yourself. Exams conducted by Makaut are as usual weird but passing a subject is easy and it can be done through last-minute studies.
Placement Experience
For B.Tech placements start pouring in right from 6th semester. Companies like TCS, Cognizant, Virtusa, etc come to the college for on-campus recruitment. The number of students who got placed in my time was 85 out of 130. The highest package was 1300000 for cse and the average is 300000 for ece and 400000 for cse and IT.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees structure for ECE is 500000 for the whole course. Scholarships are available to people who have a domicile in West Bengal and whose guardians are earning below 250000 per year. I got a job on campus and the salary of it was 360000.
Campus Life
Annual fests and tech fests are like Halley's comet if you know what I mean. Books are available in the library but good books on coding etc are not available. Old books and course books are available. Sports have cricket, football, and volleyball on campus other than the hostel games such as carrom, Ludo, etc. A few clubs of the college are the hardware club, etc.
Admission
The admission process was smooth. I got into this college through my WBJEE exam. My course was B.Tech in Electronics and communication engineering. A student who wants to enroll in nongovernmental colleges in Bengal should give WBJEE and JEE exams and secure a suitable rank.
