What Students Say
Likes
- Canteen food is really good. So your pockets are going to be empty :)
- People won't judge you here. They all are good. The point is that you have to find them.
- Exploring different cultures at the same time
Dislikes
- Not a big campus as such and they charge for everything basically
- Filled with telugus mostly and some of them including don't know English as well.
- Very strict campus and college. And nothing much to explore around campus. And also a lot of couples
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose it because l like studying electronic components. They have a huge number of faculty and many students. Can't say about the ratio exactly but like 1:5. They all have completed their PhDs from NITs and IITs but they are a bit new and not much experienced. In 4 hours you will have 3 exams and yes the question comes a bit tricky in many shifts. You have to score a minimum of 64 marks to pass the course in all three of the exams.
Internships Opportunities
You can get internships from different companies like Intel, Mercedes, Phillips, etc. And they provided a good stipend as well at least about 6 lakhs. Don't know much about it but it will be according to your specialization if you have chosen any.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester you are eligible for placements if you don't have any backlogs. Try to clear it within the 6th sem. The highest package this year 2023 was 35 lakhs per annum and the average Is 8 lakhs per annum. In 2022 the highest package was 63lakhs per annum. As there is a centralized placement system here companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, JP Morgan, Barclays, Mercedes etc. do come here. The university has a record of 100% placements. My plan is to go for higher studies like a master's. Or else take a job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees depend on in which category the students rank. For example, if someone gets Category 1 then the fee is 198000 and it increases gradually up to Category 5 basically the management quota. And similarly, for the hostel the fees are different for rooms like 2 bed AC with nonveg mess and laundry is around 185000. They do provide student loans, and scholarships as well. They have a huge connection with foreign universities.
Campus Life
They have an annual fest called Vitopia. Although it's really good the point is as the campus is surrounded by more southern you might get a bit bored when they perform you won't be able to understand their language. They have a library and yes decent amount of books are available. At least for placements and college exam preparation. The classroom is spacious but most classrooms don't have centralised AC. The labs have centralized Ac the computers work good. Yes they have different kinds of sports activities and tournaments There are around 64 clubs/chapters here. You can be a part of whichever club you want. The infrastructure is good. It's still in the construction phase so the campus will look smaller compared to other colleges. And about social life like friendship and all. It's up to you. One thing is that South people tend to make you feel alone in most cases if you are in their group and you don't speak their language.
Admission
A student should have 75% and above aggregate in 12th in PCM or PCMB. The application form is available online on VIT's website There are no reservation benefits here. However, they do have some categories of fees. So if someone is in category 5 according to their rank they will have to pay higher.
