Likes
- We can spend the whole day at the campus from 9AM to 6:30PM at the campus, though the teaching hours are from 10:30AM to 5:15PM
- There is no attendance pressure from the faculty, So we can explore the things that interests us the most
- They provide help for oncampus placements as well as for the offcampus
Dislikes
- The faculties sometimes get really busy with other government duties
- Placements are average. Not like the LDCE, VGEC
- Infrastructure is huge, but not well maintained, though the cleaners do their job but they do shallow work. College looks good only in the festivals or a events.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was interested in core Electrical engineering, but ECE was much flexibile branch, so I chose Bachelor's degree in ECE. The faculty here is really good. They will make you fall in love with Electronics. Though not all professors are like that, but most of them are really good. They coordinate some students who are participating in competitions like Hackathons, Robothons etc. Many achieved 1st prizes. The faculty members are well qualified. But the faculties may get assigned some other government duties, so some times they have to postpone or cancel the lectures. But still, they are eager to mentor students with some doubts and concepts. Since it's an autonomous institute, all the exams are conducted by the institute itself, except for the End-Sem exam, which is taken by the GTU. Most of these exams are really easy to crack. Since they are only meant to test our knowledge in the subject, not the expertise.
Internships Opportunities
Some professors provide some interships opportunities info for students interested in Research & Development sector. Few professors allow some students to be a part of their projects. Most of the time, students have to find the Internship on their own. But in recent scenario, College provided some decent internships like 6 students got into ISRO. Under the guidance of some professors, one team won the SSIP Hackathon and the 1st prize of 50,000. They made a website under women and Chile welfare scheme. While other freshers team won 2nd prize of a Robotics Competition of 2,00,000. They made a Remote control rover. There are many more exciting projects and competition winners.
Placement Experience
Generally after 7th sem, student can start doing internships officially. But some students start in their 5th, 6th or even in 3rd sem to learn on their own. The regular recruiters in ECE include Tatvasoft, E-infochips, TCS, SLTL. There are many other companies that visited last time. Adani, Ashok Leyland, La net team, Pronesis, SoftNautics, PCB planet, Simform. Adani offered the highest package of 6.5LPA for GET(Graduate Engineer Trainee) post. Average package was 4LPA. Here only 40 students got the job. Remaining some got abroad, some went for masters through GATE, and a few started Entrepreneurshi
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are 1500? per semester, which are the tuition fees only. They do not include Gym, Hostel and exam fees. Though it's really budget friendly. Because the placements are good enough in return of the fees we pay. The average placement package was 4lpa, and highest was 6.5lpa. Some students got internship at an ISRO branch in Ahmedabad called SAC, ISRO. They offered a decent stipend. I saw an increase in the placement this time.
Campus Life
The College life here is great here, depending on your personality type. If you're a social butterfly, you can find some clubs to join, like cloud IDE, GDSC. The festivals are celebrated here really well, especially the Navratri. Apart from that, the college organises some techfests once in a while. Every year a sports week is celebrated, and the college have a good sports history. Sports include Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Chess, Volleyball. For the classroom amenities, every classroom has good Wifi connectivity provide by each department. There is projector facilities in each classroom, where the facilities present their presentations. Only sad part here is that, the classrooms are not Well maintained.
Admission
Eligibility requirements were just to pass the 12th boards and the ACPC rank under the cutoff. The ACPC rank is made up from the combination of GUJCET and Boards percentile. The only way to get into this institute that I am aware of, is to get selected by the ACPC ranks.
