Course Curriculum Overview
I have an interest in computers and IoT that's why I chose this branch. In our department the faculty-to-student ratio is around 1:4. Some faculty have Ph.D. degrees and some are pursuing Ph.D. The teaching method mainly includes showing a ppt and explaining from the ppt. The term exams are very timely and it is not very difficult to pass the exam if you study a little bit.
Internships Opportunities
PWC has offered around 50 students for internships. Some companies like Caravel Labs also visit the campus. Companies like Bentley and Futures First are also providing internship opportunities for students.
Placement Experience
During the last phase of the sixth semester company started visiting our campus for internship opportunities. From the seventh semester onwards company starts visiting for full-time roles as well. Companies like Oracle, eQTechnologic, Accenture, Deloitte, PwC, and IBM have visited our campus so far. Accenture has offered 150 students for full-time roles. The Highest package offered is from Oracle around 19LPA for my Batch. The average that I know would be around 5LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees don't increase after taking admission. It is fixed whatever it is told while taking the admission. The fee of B.Tech is 70000 per semester. The college provides scholarships to students in need. If you have lost your earning member in your family your whole fees can be waived off but it depends on verification of many things. I have got a scholarship of Rs 13000 from the IEM Alumni Scholarship Scheme of the college as I have a Certain medical emergency. You can also get loans easily from banks. If you are from Bihar or West Bengal then you can get a loan at a 4% interest rate only from the student credit card scheme.
Campus Life
There are Certain fest that happen in our College. The best part of the college is the library that is accessible 24*7 the whole year. You can find most books in the library. You don't need to buy any books from outside. The library also provides a desktop that can be used if you want to learn something online. There are various clubs that are run by students like IEM Coding Club and IEM E-Cell.
Admission
Eligibility: Have completed class 12th. Basically to be admitted to the college one has to take an entrance examination that is conducted at the state level known as WBJEE. If you get a good rank then only you can be admitted to this college. During my time the exam was conducted in February.
