Course Curriculum Overview
Being a newly founded college this college lacks adequate faculties for every department. Though there are nearly enough faculties in non-core departments in core branches the condition is scary. The teachers who are teaching in this college are very much educated and experienced. The only issue is in the number of faculties present.
Placement Experience
After 6th sem students are eligible for placements. As it is situated in a backward place companies often hesitate to come. Yet due to the academic performances Some good companies like TCS Ninja, Worley, L&T, Adani Power, and Coding Ninja come every year for Core and Non-core placements. The average package is about 4 lpa. 30-40% of students get placement. Many of the students opt for higher studies resulting in a lower percentage. The highest-ever placement is 21lpa in Microsoft
Fees and Financial Aid
Being a government engineering college the college fees in very less compared to any other tier 3 private college. For ECE & CSE the semester fee is 6000/semester whereas for Core branches it is 3000/Semester. All kinds of government scholarships like SVMCM, and Aikyashree are present here. Those who are in responsible posts for this scholarship and loans are very helpful. Student Credit Card Scheme is also available.
Campus Life
Now coming to the best part about CGEC. It is situated by the bank of the Torsha river. The classrooms are airy and well-decorated. The campus is well organized(not like private ones). In a library, you will get all types of academic help. The library is under continuous renovation. CGEC has its own active clubs for extracurricular activities. Some notable clubs here are Debate Club, Creative Pens, Rongmilanti, Melodies Of CGEC etc. CGEC has its own sports club and big ground for sports. Apart from outdoor CGEC have carrom, Chess and Table tennis as indoor facility. The annual tech fest here is ESPERANZA organized normally in the month of April.
Admission
Coochbehar Government College allows admission only through Wbjee counselling with a proper scorecard. As a tier 3 college, a rank within 20k is considered to get admission to this particular college. In the decentralized spot round, the rank goes into 30k for general.
