Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for computer science and engineering as it was/is a booming market for tech-savvy people like me. The faculty of our college is really good and each subject has 2-3 faculties assigned. The faculty is also really qualified most of them are PhDs and the others are pursuing PhDs. The exams were also well scheduled and we were informed before due time. They were fairly easy to pass if taken proper preparations.
Placement Experience
Students generally start becoming eligible for placements when they pass the 6th semester and from the start of the 7th-semester different companies such as Poornam, TCS, tech Mahindra, and Cognizant start visiting our college. The offers range from 1 to 3 jobs per student. The highest package our student got last year was 9lpa and the average package is generally 6.5 to 7lpa. Roughly around 90% of the students get placed before graduation. My plan is to sit for as many companies as I can after getting my degree and get a good job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is fairly rigid and it doesn't hike as of now. The fees are also very reasonable as for the facilities it provides and the opportunities which are offered for the money are really a bargain. Though I didn't get any scholarship or stipend as I didn't apply most of my peers got the svmcm scholarship.
Campus Life
The annual fest is called Utkarsha which is generally conducted in the month of January-February and is really lovely. Many famed bands and singers are invited to perform each year and students from different departments take part in the events. The annual tech fest takes place in the month of March and is called tech etc. It's really fun and consists of coding competitions, gaming competitions, and other different fun competitions. It also showcases an exhibition of different models made by the students.
Admission
I took the Wbjee examination in the year 2021 and got the rank around 24000. In the first round of counseling, I got Hooghly Engineering and Technology College. The admission process was smooth and the admission cell provided me with all the necessary information.
