Faculty members and staffs of the college, they are helpful.
Library has quite a good stock of books for the students.
The environment of the college is quite good for studies.

Dislikes

There is no social life in the college .
There is no college canteen for the students.
The classes doesn't have air conditioner.

Course Curriculum Overview

I love the accounting subject as a whole that's why took this course to enhance my knowledge in this path. Teacher and student ratio is 1:6.25. The faculty members are really highly qualified. Most of the faculty members are like our parents they guide us so well. It is quite difficult to give the internal exams of all the subjects in one day in this college.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 1500 per year

Internships Opportunities

The internship opportunities in our college is quite high . The students get a lot of internship opportunities . The college faculties also train them how to appear for interviews . We get projects and assignments which enhances our knowledge.

Placement Experience

In recent times the number of placements are quite less. Deloitte, standard chartered came in our college during placements. Most of the students in our college prepare for professional degrees, so the percentage of students sitting for job interviews are quite less.

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost is very minimal as it is a pure government aid college . The students get many kinds of scholarships from the government . In the recent years, there are no handsome placements in our college but earlier many good companies used to come to give jobs to the students.

Campus Life

The social life in this college is not so good. There is only one fest in a whole year. But the library has a great availablity of books and each and every classroom is a smart classroom. Sports also happens once in a year.

Admission

No there was no entrance exam in my college. The cut off was like 95% for general students. And for reservation it was near about 88%. The application form is available in our college website only. The admission process is very smooth and simple and hassle free

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks. Proud to be Goenkan

I got admission in Aliah University which is in New Town Kolkata I got rank 12. I applied in Shri Shikshathan College also and got admission in first list. I rejected both the colleges as Aliah University though it is a reputed college but the placement committee is not as good as Goenka College of commerce. I applied for BBA + MBA integrated program in Aliah University but I wanted to pursue BCom honours in accountancy and finance thus I rejected Aliah University. Shri shikshayatan college on the other hand is another reputed college in which I applied for bcom honours in accountancy and finance I rejected Shri shikshayatan college as no doubt Goenka College is way more better than Shree shikshayatan and Shri shikshayatan is comparatively very much expensive in comparison with goenka. Shri shikshayatan takes around 250000 tuition fee on the other hand Goenka College charges only 4090 rs for 4 years....Read More
