Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen computer science as it is the most leading branch in the modern market. The faculty members of our college are the best as they are highly qualified from IITS and NITS. Their teaching quality is very good and understandable. The semester exams occur twice a month with six month of gap between them.

Internships Opportunities

Many multinational companies come to our college for internships and provide stipends of about 12000 or above. These internships help us in jobs in the near future. It is also very much knowledgeable for us.

Placement Experience

From the 6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. TCS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, and INFOSYS visit our college. The highest package in our college is 12LPA and the average package is 4LPA. About 100% of students got placed. My plan is also to get a job.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fee is 6000. The fee structure of our college is affordable and there is no fee hike. Our college provides scholarships to each and every student. Besides they also provide financial help to students having financial problems.

Campus Life

The annual fest in our college is known as Esperanza. Our college library is full of books and journals. Our classes have projectors for study. Cricket and football take place in our college. There are cultural groups also in our college.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel rooms are very neat and clean. Rooms have wifi facilities. The food quality is very good. For registration of hostel rooms, there are online applications on the college website. The locality around our college is very good.

Admission

I got admission to this college through the wbjee exam where l got a 7050 rank and chose Coochbehar Government Engineering College as my first priority as it is the best college in West Bengal for studying computer science and engineering.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
