Likes

The mess Food is good. They offer Biryani, variety fishes, chicken,
The position of the college , it's near metro , railway station.
There are lot of experienced teachers, and lot of departments .

Dislikes

Sports facilities are not good , field alway occupied by grass , lots of snakes there.
The auditorium is small and not good. The airconditioner are not working.
More equipments needed in the lab , ACs are not working everywhere.

Course Curriculum Overview

For fishery sciences total of 9 departments. The faculty strength is very good. Professors are highly experienced and qualified. Teaching methods are both conventional and modern. Hands-on training, study tour for 4th year students.

Class Size: 44Course Fees: INR 7820 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Admission fees are 15160 for hostellers, 9560 for hostellers, including 1st semester. For the rest of the semester 5710 for hostellers and 3910 for days scholar's. You can get Oasis and SVMCM state government scholarships. ICAR fellowship for ICAR quota students and university merit scholarship are also available.

Campus Life

There are lots of functions in a year, like a farewell, freshers, Agamoni (before Puja), Annual Fest, and Foundation Day. In annual fest celebrities, and bands are hired from outside. Lots of book, journals, theses are available in the library. Classrooms are good, not so hi-tech though. Sports activities are not so good, the conditions of the fields are horrible.

Admission

There are a total of 44 seats, among them 37 are from state quota and 7 from ICAR. State quota seat intake is done through Higher Secondary marks (Bio, Phys, Chem, Eng). ICAR seats are from the ICAR-UG entrance exam.

My experience was very interesting while pursuing my graduation in The Neotia University

Course Curriculum Overview:

The exam pattern was good. Moderate paper was there. Examiner had done a great job. For the curriculum we always had to pay extra money. In our 7th sem, we had all India tour, we did have any practical classes or theory exam still we had to pay for the practical and library not only that we had to pay for the trip as well.

Rokte Fishery

Placement Experience:

From 4th year,students are eligible for placement.There are many companies like Godrej Agrovet,Nexgen etc. comes every year. Average package is around 6 lakh per year. Approx 10-13 students got placement every year.

My college my opinion

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculty of the university is very experienced about the course. The Faculty to students ratio is nearly 1:10. Every semester has two exams. One is mid-term exam which is organized internally for 30 marks and another one is end term exam of which questions are external and for 50 marks. There are also practical examination of 20 marks. Each students has to qualify both theory and practical exam in order to get dgree.

Fishery is a best couse to save job

After B.F.Sc 4th yr students are eligible for the campusing there are few companies like Godrej, IBM, Agrofet are visited this college for campusing Average package as per companies varies with their condition but 550000 is an average package of every student

I am a 2 nd year student, so I can't know about placement. When government announce for F. E. O post student get placed. 100 student get placed for feo in 2020 . Lots of fish farm and fish company is here

My vision to BFSc

Placement Experience:

It's not fixed at all. Placement is in the hands of the HOD of various departments. After a bachelor's degree students can easily afford on or off-campus with 3-4LPA. After my bachelor's degree, my personal plan is to complete MFSc as after the completion of my post-graduate job profile would be higher than BFSc.

Placement Experience:

Being a professional course as it is, the main goal is to train and create entrepreneurs who pioneer in the art of Pisciculture, its administration and management. Students can also apply for Government jobs, or participate in government funded projects in central research institutes, furthermore they can sought for higher education and research themselves, Choose teaching as their profession, and also seek a position in private fishing industries that are based generally on the culture and post harvesting, which is a highly profitable scope as well. Recruiters generally come towards the last semester in the final year. And students are eligible to apply from the (4rth year) final year itself. Almost all students are placed. I completed my master's from here from the Department of Fisheries Engineering and Technology and on completion am seeking opportunities for a PhD.

My Second Home

Placement Experience:

In the 4th year, students are eligible for campus placements. Students studying here mainly aim for Fishery Extension Officer (Govt. Post) but due to conflict of the demands, the recruitment is halted for now. Campus placements are not at all regular. The companies that visit here are CP, Biostadt etc. The faculty is planning to open a recruitment cell for regular campusing.

Me and College

Remarks:

College management committee has done an excellent work in maintaining the integrity of thr campus. With fewer student density, the association among the students and teachers had been a blessing. Not to worry about non academic staffs are helpful in their own ways giving this campus a glossy look.

I choose the college because Dairy Technology is itself a thriving course and career and our university ranks second among all dairy universities. It also provides an satisfaction to study in Biology stream who cannot clear Neet exam. This university also provide free transport facility that isthrough its own University Bus from Kanchrapa station (nearest station) Mohanpur campus and from Belgachia University Campus to Mohanpur campus. Comparatively it also gives a well to do packages. The political intervention or political choas are not present which is a great problem to most of the universities in West Bengal and in India. A student can opt for this course (BTech in Dairy Technology) in West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences (WBUAFS) if they have the subject combination of PCM or PCMB (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology) in their 10+2 standard and have cleared West Bengal Joints Entrance Examination (WBJEE) or Indian Council of Agricultural Research Examination (ICAR) with suitable ranks. It is one of the best colleges for BFSc course. First of all a online application has to be filled up, then a merit list is published by the university based on the 10 + 2 percentage of the students. At last students has to attain a counseling process. The cut off is nearly 92% for general category and there are other reservation also available.
