Gist of Jadavpur University

I am passionate about learning electronics that's why I chose this course. Class strength is for 80 students. The teachers are very friendly. They all have done their phd and they have a lot of experience in teaching. Teachers gave a lot of examples so that we could understand it in a better way and also gave real-life problems so that we know where to apply and how to apply the concept. Jadavpur University is an autonomus University. Odd semesters start in December and the even semester starts in May.

Internship opportunities are high. Students get internships in MNCs like Amazon, Texas Instrument, Morgan Stanley, Workspot etc. and research internships like Mitacs. The tech company provides an SDE role. The highest stipend offered by Morgan Stanley is 87000/month.

The campus placement is excellent. Students are eligible for placement from the start of the 7th semester and the campus placement starts. So many multinational companies like Amazon, DE Shaw, Texas Instrument, Micron, Morgan Stanley, Slice, synopsis and many more companies visit this campus to hire us. The highest package of my department is 46LPA offered by Amazon and the average package is 18LPA. 98% of students became placed through the campus placement.

Jadavpur University is a government University. The fee structure of it is very low nearly 5000/year. And the hostel facilities are also available here. One can get a scholarship during his study. The amount of the scholarship is 60000/year. Internship opportunities and job opportunities are very good. The internship provides a stipend. And the average placement is 12-13 LPA.

Here different kinds of activities are present. A student can enjoy his college life along with his studies. In the annual fest, there are different types of programs, and students can participate in them. There are both inter-college and intra-college programs. Here 2 libraries are present one is depertmental and one is central. In the library, there are 2 types of reading rooms. in a reading room, students can read through the book and in another which is a digital library, computers are present, and students can access these computers during their breaks. Almost all kinds of books and journals are present in the library and in the website. On the campus, a big playground is present where we can play outdoor games. Indoor games are also present. A gym is also present on the campus.

To get admission one has to appear WBJEE examination. This exam is mainly for West Bengal students but there are some reservations for another state also. There are some reservations for SC, ST, OBC also. Jadavpur University is the top university to go through this exam. If one wishes to get admission to Jadavpur University in the department of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering then GMR 400(approx) is required. One can find the application form by searching WBJEE in Google. It takes 500 rupees as application fees. Form fill-up starts at the end of November or early December.
