Remarks

The college has a good standard compared to other govt. Colleges. The quality of faculties is great. They focus on teaching and knowledge. Practicals are giving much more importance to produce good engineers, the infrastructure could improve but still gives a good vibe.

Entrance Preview

For getting into this college one needs to appear for JEE examinations and 12th boards as it comes under ACPC wherein 60% of JEE marks and 40% of boards is taken into consideration for the ranks. On the basis of which you get your stream. It is basically based on one's rank.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Practical learning is given most importance as there is a strict attendance criterion for laboratory classes. The faculties are focused to give practical lessons, labs are available for most subjects.

Internships Opportunities

Internships are done by the students on their own. They chose their own firm or company, sometimes they get stipends but mostly it is unpaid internship for getting experience and knowledge.

Placement Experience

2.5

The placements are average. About 30-40% students get placed. Rest students are recruited in off campus placements. The mass recruiting companies like TCS, Accenture visit the campus, other than that there is a low placement rate.

College Events

3

The technical fest of GTU is held at LDCE which is the GTU Techfest. Apart from that culfest is organised in which dance, music, art events are held. Average footfall is 1000-3000 students. Most of the students actively participate and have won zonals and interzonal competition. Sports events are also held to encourage fitness among youth.

Fee Structure And Facilities

GEC-G has a low fees structure. The fees is same as any Govt. College. A minimum amount of 500-1000/- per semester is taken as fees amount. Other than that exam fees of 700-900 is submitted for GTU Examinations.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is very nominal hence a student loan is not needed, also GTU provides TFW for economically backward class students, so a loan is really not needed.

Campus Life

3

Extracurricular activities are given importance, the sports culture of college is great. There are various clubs which support the activities students want to participate in. Facilities provided are minimal, but students make do.

Hostel Facilities

2

Hostels are pretty dull, the food in the mess is of average quality. It provides 2-3 sharing room. There are no PGs. The rooms are small, but 3-4 students too stay in one room. The rooms are allotted on merit basis. The hostel fees is very low, as low as 4000 for a year.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni information are available from the college, and students do contact them for placement training and other purposes. The alumni are friendly and take time out for events of college even after years of passing out.

Exam Structure

Exams are held after every 3 months. This includes the mid semester examinations and then the GTU examination, which is held at the semester end. Apart from that, lab exams and Vivas are conducted during the last month of semester.

Faculty

4

Faculties are qualified. The teaching quality is excellent. Most of the faculties have experience of over 3 years. Interactive sessions are held in the class as faculties believe in serving knowledge rather than just making students mug up the syllabus.

From last two years there was 100% placements but usually its 90%. I plan to pursue pg after this degree in either mtech or mba.
