There cannot be any reason for a bad remark. This college has helped a lot till now to shape me and make me who I am today! Lalbhai Dalpatbhai college of engineering has no reason to not be a premier institute of the state. Be it academic excellence or feats in co-curricular activities, LDCE has always stood out
Entrance Preview
For getting into LD college, one needs to appear in JEE. And should take their boards seriously, as it comes under ACPC wherein 60% of JEE marks and 40% of boards in taken into consideration for the ranks. On the basis of which you get your stream. It is basically based on one's merit. I personally wanted to take up something interesting and new, hence Biomedical engineering
Course Curriculum Overview
LD is one of the most prestigious institutions of the state. Hence, it never compromises with it's curriculum, be it theoretically or practically. The college has tie ups with PRL, and other state research centres. Students at LD also get to intern with ISRO and various other institutes apart from following regular college routine.
Internships Opportunities
College encourages to take up internships, the faculties are supportive and help you in every way possible. Internships although are not offered by the college, students can search and do internships on their own. Students generally receive a stipend of 5-6k per month.
Placement Experience
Many multinational corporations like Accenture, reliance, Essar, Larsen and toubro come for placements. Almost 60-65% of the students get placed while the rest of the crowd opt for GATE, MBA or GRE. The average package is 4.5lacs
College Events
The college hosts the state's most happening and biggest technical Festival that is the GTU TECHFEST. It also hosts it's own tech fest named Lakshya, which has an average footfall of around 6-7k students from all across the state. Apart from technical Festivals we have cultural festivals like Xitij. Literary events like Sahitya Sarita and so on.
Fee Structure And Facilities
LD being a government institute has very nominal and affordable fees of around 1500/- for boys and total fee waiver for girls as girls education in Gujarat is for free. So, it very affordable and feasible.
Fees and Financial Aid
There is no need for scholarship as I already mentioned the fees of the college. But there is a total fee waiver for students who cannot pay that amount due to family crisis. Also, highly meritorious students can also get a total fee waiver. There is no requirement of getting loans as such
Campus Life
The college is evolving day by day and strives harder to bring in the best in every child. Apart from academics the college has 23+ clubs for techies to poets. From managers to athletes. The clubs also give you an appreciation after completing one year with them in form of a certificate. Other major clubs include NCC, NSS, ROBOCON, Mind palace : the quizzing team. The college also takes pride in having it's own magazine : Vox Populi magazine which is issued in a yearly basis
Alumni/Alumna
LDCE has a brilliant network of alumni. They are available whenever in need. You can contact any of them and they are readily available. Any query regarding final year project or techfests they are at our rescue. They are amiable and would guide you as a friend.
Exam Structure
We have half yearly exams that is held by the GTU. We have labs everyday. That too for 2 hours because practical knowledge >> theoretical knowledge. At the end of each semester we also have practical exams. It is definitely a chill culture before exams. And before the final semester there is mid semester held by the college itself. That is where we are graded by the internal faculties.
Faculty
Faculties are well versed with what they are teaching. They hold degrees from various prestigious institutions across the country like IITs and NITs etc. They are very supportive as well as guide us properly. It was never an issue to take up anything new as they always encouraged in all activities. Teachers bring PowerPoint presentation for better understanding
