Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is very much of maths background and it requires good calculation and data knowledge. The course has basic Statistics like mean, median, and probability with advanced mathematics. I chose this course as I wanted to make a career in data science and data analytics. The faculty is great and has very qualified teachers with good knowledge of statistics. There are 7-8 professors in our department which is sufficient for learning. The professors are highly qualified with prior knowledge in Maths and statistics with Ph.D. and their teaching method is very approaching and interesting as they also interact and also give real-life examples for better understanding. The exams are held after a chapter or unit is done and a class test is done in every few weeks which is added to your result. Therefore, if you are good at maths and statistics you can go for this course.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship is offered by Placement cell or Vice chancellor internship. Companies like Zomato, lenskart, Stanza living, and Flipkart come to our college for internships and offer various roles and projects to students like Managing social media, managing basic databases, or assistant manager.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are good for some courses like Bcom h, Economics, Stats Hons, Maths etc. The placements are given when you are in your 3rd/ 4th year through the placement cell of the college. Various companies visited our college like Deloitte, DShaw, Wipro, Decathlon ,Paytm etc. The average package is 7.4 lpa and the highest package in Ramjas College is 21.5 lpa till now. The profiles offered to students are usually for executive managers, consultants, etc. A total of 106 + students are placed in the year 2022-23 by Placement cell and the placement rate is 52 % approx. My plans after completing this degree wil be to look for a job if I get one from the college or do masters.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees have increased in the years but are still quite affordable. The fee for my course is 16k per year. The rest expenditure will be on the cost of living and buying books and stationary stuff. If you are very poor then several government scholarships are given for which you should be aware and if you are pwd then a fee concession will be provided to you. You get internships through a Vice chancellor scholarship provided by the University for every student from 2nd year onwards. With my course, you can get good placements of around 5-6 lakh on average at the start. Several companies come to our campus like Deloitte, De Snaw, Flipkart, SBI, etc. So, there are several opportunities for you here.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus is very happening and there are everywhere students roaming from different colleges..Hindu, Ramjas, SRCC, and Hansraj are all at a close distance so the campus the filled with students mostly. The fest is the main attraction of DU. Although the fest is now happening very little after COVID-19 it's getting normal now. The fests are conducted usually in March and April and many big celebrities are called and it's huge and fun. The campus is very motivating as everyone is preparing for some or other exams such as cat and upsc. There are libraries in every college and the books for every competitive exam and course is present but one issue with the library is that the library is not open all the time. The classroom has basic amenities like a blackboard, benches, fan. Not all the classrooms have projectors but they are working on it. For extracurriculars, the colleges have various societies like dance, singing, debating, drama, and sports teams in which you can join.

Admission

I am Aditya Raj Verma, a student at Ramjas College, DU. I am pursuing Bsc (H) in Statistics. I completed my 12th with commerce stream and had given CUET entrance exam to qualify for Delhi University. The eligibility for my course was to have Mathematica as a compulsory domain so anyone with PCM or commerce with maths can do it. The applications for the CUET form can be found on cuet. samarth website and the forms are open during May- June month and the exam is held for your given domain in MCQ format. After you give your exams the answer key is released and you can check your marks out of 800 or 700 or 600.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum consists of relatable topics and interesting ones as well this is what quite influenced me to take this course. We have labs which help us learn how to prepare various organic compounds which are used in many day to day products . The course also has a 4th year research program. There should be more equipments in lab for the research. The frequency is good for exams being conducted and there level is also quite good

The students become eligible for the placements provided by the college in their 3rd year, while they can pursue internship offered by the college in previous years. Average sized companies visited the campus with lots of students being placed for jobs. The highest package I am not aware of but lowest was of around 300000 pa. I plan to pursue masters after my graduation degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. I don't know a lot about campus placements but I know that there is a training and placement cell in our college that provides good packages to many students. Some students got more than 7lpa last year. I will be doing my Post graduation after college and will make a career in academics.
