College is very memorable and close to my heart but I do have a negative feeling regarding the Campus recruitment part.
Entrance Preview
WBJEE , My Rank was 33443. And I chose Computer Science and Engineering as my Stream. I opted for this college because I heard good about it from the Alumni.
Course Curriculum Overview
College's academic structure is totally based on WBUT syllabus. But WB's course is a bit lagging behind with other Engineering Universities of India. But still, if someone has the zeal to study hard can definitely do well in his career. Specifically, in the CSE department, no one requires a good faculty or a good college. We have the internet and we need a basic level of dedication and we can touch the sky on our own.
Placement Experience
Placements, to be honest, is not that great. But as I already said we just require an internet connection and a basic level of dedication for the CSE department and you can touch the skies. Regarding placements, only one good company comes directly to college and that's TCS and rest there will be many other as well but those will be Pooled campus.
College Events
there are lots of events 1. NEN 2. Scimantek and many more small events
Hostel Facilities
Not at all good. The room is never wiped and food is of very very poor quality. Wardens do cooperate.
Alumni/Alumna
Would like to ask the Alumni to visit the college at least once a year whenever have some time and tell the current students about the recent market and help them with the preparation
Exam Structure
Basically there will be 2 internal exams 1 lab exam and 1 end semester exam. internal takes place like every 2months and just before the end semester we have the Lab test. And in the final year, we have to submit a project and one grand viva which includes questions from all subjects since the first year
Admission
Basically I gave WBJEE got 33443 ranks and via WB counseling I got a seat booked in this college. When I was there in the counseling only 7 seats were left in for Computer Science and Engineering. I had to pay 15000 on the DIATM counter in Kolkata and the rest amount I had to pay when I reached college on the first day.
Faculty
Faculties of the CSE department are good and are very helpful. When I was there then CSE HOD was Mr. Soumendu Tripathy and he was an extremely knowledgeable and helpful faculty. I don't know who's the current Faculty. I am listing down a few of the best faculties in CSE department ( if you get a chance to study under them then you're lucky) 1. Mr. Soumendu Tripathy 2. Mr. Soumitra Rou Chowdhury 3. Mr. Sagnik Dutta 4. Mr. Sankar Mkherjee
