Remarks

It's one of the best colleges in DU. I cherish every moment of my graduation in this college. From faculty , students, Infrastructure, location, society, placement etc. I think it's a good college.

Entrance Preview

I took admission in zhdce on basis of cut off list released by DU. I took admission in 2015-16 with the 89% in best 4 subject. In recent years there is a decline in the Perntage required to get admission, last year in 4th cut off released by the college was at 85 for general category. My percentage wasn't enough to get me admission in any other DU college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am a B.COM(Prog.) student so in every semester i have 4 subjects (including 2 Skill Enhancement Course subject & the remaining are core subjects). So in total i have to study 24 subjects during 3 years course. The B.Com(Prog.) give you an overview of almost all the subject taught in B.Com(Hons.). You can find the detail Course curriculum on du website but one important thing i want to tell you about this course is that in 2&3 semester it compulsory for the students to take hindi.

Internships Opportunities

Yes the college do provide internship opportunities to it's students but it's totally up to you to crack the interview & get the internship. This year also many com companies visited the college for internship such as Sharekhan ltd & IndusInd Bank etc. Usually the companies don't offer any stipend to the interns but some offer stipend up to 5-8k. Please remember the number of company visiting the college for internship are lesser in comparison to the number of students applying for the internship.

Placement Experience

3.5

This year Decathlon and Genpact visited the college for placement to the third year student many students were able to crack the interview easily the packages offered to the students were 2 lakh per annum and 3 to 4 lakh per annum respectively. About 40 students were taken up by Genpact and I don't know the figure for Decathlon.

College Events

4.5

The academic year of all DU colleges including my college is full of celebrations and events in the summer All students are busy in elections and in winters students are busy in fest. if you took admission in this college you must join commerce society it will help you build your overall personality and teach you many other important lessons of your life that will help you in your future job. I agree that the best organised by my college are not that big as of north Campus colleges but sale the society and faculty organizes good fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee is very less as compared to other colleges. For Bcom programme the fee for every year is 7000. I think the fee is very feasible for any student, yes he do have to spend on getting a good PG but the college fee is very nominal. I don't think that it would be a problem for any student.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't think that the fees is high that you will need to take a loan for that. Yes the meritorious students are given cash prizes on scoring good marks of 1000 . Reserved category students can apply for the scholarship post metric scholarship can pay up to 10000 and there are other scholarship schemes also available for the reserved category student which you can find on the MOMA website.

Campus Life

4.5

After being a Evening College it still have a good gender ratio the college football team has has won many championships but from last year. The college ground is close down because of ongoing construction work in the parking area near the ground. The college do have a students from different backgrounds & there is no discrimination between the students.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The college doesn't provide the hostel facility. yes the college do have a canteen and it serve a variety of dishes at a minimal cost. Mostly the students take a PG at Laxmi Nagar from there they easily get a of 2BHK at 8000 Laxmi Nagar is also famous for coaching institutes so if one decides to stay it's easier for him to to get good coaching institute and it's close to the college.

Alumni/Alumna

It has had a number of distinguished alumni. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the founder of Aligarh Muslim University, Maulana Mohammed Hussain Azad, the father of Urdu prose, Deputy Nazir Ahmed, the Urdu essayist and ICS, poets, Ali Sardar Jafri and Akhtar ul-Iman, Mirza M N Masood, an Indian hockey olympian, eminent linguist and the 5th Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia Professor Emeritus Masud Husain Khan, Khwaja Ahmed Farooqui (literature), Professor A N Kaul (pro-vice chancellor, Delhi University), J N Dixit (Defence Analyst), Professor Gopi Chand Narang (world-renowned Urdu/Persian critic), Pankaj Vohra (Associate Editor, Hindustan Times), B N Uniyal, Shahid Siddiqui, Manmohan, Mukul Vyas, Chandra Prabha, Habib Akhtar, M Afzal (journalists) and politicians like Jagdish Tytler and Sikandar Bakht. Yes students are helpful they will provide you with the books and guidance.

Exam Structure

Exams are not at all hectic it's totally chilled out. The 25% of the total marks of your exam come from internals. Internals are conducted by the course teachers of the college so it's easy to score good marks in internals,5 marks in every subject depend upon your attendance and the rest 75% off marks are based on external exams conducted at the end of the semester.

Admission

I was admitted on the basis of the cut off released by college. I visited the college with all necessary documents and the admission volunteer help me with everything in admission proces but from last year the process has changed, leasser number of cut off were released last year. I also came to know about the entrance test that may be conducted by du for admission in the under Graduate Courses.

Faculty

4

The faculty is very helpful. Its a DU college so you can assess the quality of faculty you get in the college most teachers teach well.Maximum number of teachers are PhD holder or are pursuing there research at the same time. There are some teachers in the college for whom I think they aren't interested in teaching but most teachers are very passionate about teaching there students they conduct research on there part & convey it to there class. I would like name some of the teachers like Ankush Bhargava, S. C. Bhatia sir and Iqbal sir.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
