Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is actually good. For 1st year, they taught everyone the same syllabus that included Elements of electrical engineering, elements of electronic and communication engineering, engineering graphics, engineering mathematics, elements of mechanical engineering + mechanical labs, professional communication, the profession of ethics and values, physics, physics lab, chemistry and chemistry lab. The faculty members are quite good but most professors are from the South only so their accent in English is quite weird some are good but some are. But that's not the problem you have some really good friends who explains you in your own language/ mother tongue just have the right friend.
Placement Experience
I think from the 5th semester internship opportunities have started or may be from the last of 4th semester and campus placement started after you entered in 4th year. Many big companies like Amazon Google Facebook Goldman Sachs oracle visited the campus. The highest package is around 55 lakhs per annum (domestic) in 2023-24 and the average package is around 22 lakhs per annum Around 93% of students got placed somewhere.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure is around 2 - 2.4 lakhs per year but if your parents annual income below 5 lakhs you will definitely get some fee waiver on tuition fees. People, whose parents' annual income is below 1 lakhs can get a 100% fee waiver on tuition fees. For scholarships, many state-governed scholarships r there for home-state students only so u have to depend on your state government for some scholarships.
Campus Life
Campus life is actually good ( as nitk has beach). There are 2 fests one is Tech Fest ( Engineer ) which held in the month of October every year. Another one is the cultural fest ( Incident) which is held in March both are superb fests. There are 2 types of libraries in nitk Central Library and e- library library has around 90k books, many journals, and many more books. The classroom is actually good but no ac in the classroom, the classroom is equipped with a projector and blackboard. Sports facilities is also good every sport has its individual space designed here eg for badminton you have to go with non-marking shoes and inside the badminton court, a court is equipped with all facilities required to play badminton. Similarly, all sports have the same thing.
Admission
Admission is through JOSAA & CSAB, I got NITK through jee mains after getting qualified and got a good percentile I got this college. The cutoff for the NITK civil branch is from 20k to 34k. While for cse it was around 800 to 2500. I am telling for general only.
