SRM UNIVERSITY: A LIFE WORTH EXPERIENCING!!

The college has all the facilities with great infrastructure. The campus environment is amazing and nurturing! With placement records being this good, it's a great college for an amazing future.

I gave SRM JEE which was held in April 2014. I got a rank of 2510. SRM is a name in itself, the placement record is highest in Tamil Nadu. It offers variety of course for both UG and PG.

SRM has all the facilities and support that a student needs to prepare himself/herself to be industry ready. With 2 Industrial training and projects (minor in 6th sem and major in 8th sem). In every semester, students are given electives (both open and department) so that they can choose the ones they would like to have future research and study in.

The college curriculum includes two mandatory internships each after 4th semester and 6th semester. Credits are given bases on presentation and report based on the internship.

The placement in SRM is of top notch. With having a great placement record and giant companies like Amazon, continental, zomato visiting, it offers students great opportunities to work with such big companies. The salary range varies from 9 lakh to 3 lakh. The job offered was generally of Graduate engineer trainee (GET).

The college hosts many technical and cultural fests. With Aaruush and Milan being the two most celebrated cultural fests, students from various colleges come and take part in a competition. College also holds many technical fests and conducts a competition to encourage students to come out and take part.

The fees comes around to about 1.65 lakh per annum for B.tech courses. The fees varies slightly with campus. The hostel fees is around 1 lakh per annum which also includes bus fees and other facilities. All the equipments needed in lab or other projects are also provided by the college which is included in the college fees.

The college provides scholarship to students who are University rank holders with maximum of 75%. It also provides scholarship to students from needy background and also takes care of all the support needed by those students.

The campus life has a deal that every student would love to experiment. With different symposiums, events and fests having taken place, it gives students various opportunities to take part in competitions like present around the world (PATW), MUN, debates, paper presentation etc! The labs are of Supreme quality. Extracurricular activities keep on happening every week with teachers encouraging students to take part.

The hostel in SRM is top class, with all the comfort and facilities inside the campus, it's a great catch for students coming not only from different parts of India but also all very the world. The hostel food is of great quality. The rooms are available with all the facilities.

The alumini network is very strong, the teachers and seniors make a great effort to stay connected and are very helpful in organizing various events and symposium with activities like presenting paper and conduction completion's.

We have 3 exams in one semester viz cycle test 1, model examination and semester exam. With internals consisting of 50 marks and semester of 50. We have CT1 of 15, model examination of 25. We have 5 marks for attendance and 5 for surprise quiz/test. Students are given ample amount of time to prepare for the exams.

I gave SRM JEE and cleared it with a rank of 2510. I was called for counseling and after the required paperwork asked to choose the course and campus. Counseling happens based on the ranks scored by students. There are 4 campus currently and students can choose any course they want along with the campus.

The faculty of the college is highly qualified and skilled. They are very helpful and come out of their way to help or clear any doubt. The teacher to student ratio is around 1:50. Different interactive methods are used to make the class a rather lively one. Projectors and lab sessions are used to make the student understand the course better.
