Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is outdated, and the faculty is just above average for the first year. Most students usually prepare for exams using online resources and books. Also, MME is quite rewarding compared to civil or mining. All teachers are Ph.D. holders with 6+ years of experience. The exams are relatively tougher as the semester moves forward.
Internships Opportunities
Many companies like Accenture, Vedanta, Oracle, etc let students sit for their placements and also provide internship opportunities for those who are interested. Roles of product manager, sales officer, etc are offered based on the interests of the candidate.
Placement Experience
Students start getting placed in the 7th semester and can avail internships from the 6th semester. Almost 96 percent of the eligible students got placed in the CSE dept and about 82 percent got placed in the MME dept. The average package is about 1100000 and the highest package was 64lpa bagged by 10+ students.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is quite high here, almost crossing 11 lakhs for a general male candidate. Fee remissions are provided for those with parental income less than 5 lakhs. SC and ST candidates have no tuition fees at all.
Campus Life
The annual cultural festival is Aarohi and the tech fest is Axis. Both are the largest central Indian fests of their type respectively. A lot of colleges from around the country visit our college for the fests. There's a huge football and cricket ground available, and about 27 different clubs and societies for all students.
Hostel Facilities
First years receive 2 sharing rooms which are quite spacious and comfortable. High-speed LAN connections are provided for those who use laptops. The food is below average. The menu is reviewed and decided by the mess committee formed in the first year. Registration for hostels can be done on the VNIT official website.
Admission
The admissions are based on JEE mains scores. The usual cutoff percentile for a general male candidate for MME is 95 percentile. After your JEE, apply for JOSAA and CSAB counseling rounds and fill in your choices of colleges and courses accordingly. If eligible, you can get into VNIT.
