Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as I always dreamt of taking CSE for engineering as it has a bright future. Also, I chose IIIT Sonepat as it is near to my house. The faculties are increasing in our college. Right now the faculty-student ratio is approx 1:30 . Most of the faculties in our college are PhDs and they are very knowledgeable in their fields of teaching too. There are 2 mid-sems in our college along with End-term exams. There is also a midsem break between 2 mid-sems. The level of exams are relatively easier.
Placement Experience
In IIIT Sonepat, students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. In the 8th semester, students don't have to study in college, they are free to join companies and industries. Right now, YAMAHA placed around 11 students at 11 LPA and the placement drive for companies is still going on. Around 80% of students get placed successfully. After degree, I will apply for placements both on-campus and off-campus
Fees and Financial Aid
The semester fees in IIIT Sonepat are close to 98k and taking a hostel is also optional. If students wish to take a hostel then the hostel fee is around 75k per semester. Student loans can also be applied through banks like PNB, SBI etc. Students also have the option to stay privately in flats too.
Campus Life
Recently, sports fest Agnito was conducted in our college in which students from all years participated in sports like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Snooker, TT, E-Sports like Valorant, PUBG, Call OF Duty, and FIFA. There is a library in our college which has all kinds of books which are required in our curriculum. Classrooms are air-conditioned and they have smart boards on which teachers can teach through presentations. We have many clubs for different purposes like - Impact Club for music and dance, Enigmatics for coding, GDSC etc.
Hostel Facilities
I live in the hostel. In the hostel, the rooms are triple-occupied. In the hostel, we have facilities for various sports like cricket, football, badminton, TT, and snooker. The food quality is decent. Students have the option to opt for AC and wifi and pay the charges accordingly. We also have 7 Washing machines for washing clothes. If students wish to stay in flats, then they are available a little far from college in places like Kundli which is closer to the Delhi border. Societies like TDI, Kingsbury are the places where students are living currently.
Admission
I got admission through JEE MAINS 2021 in which I secured 97.77 Percentile with Gen - EWS rank 21k. Then I did counselling through the JOSAA online portal where we had to put the branch and college names in priority order. I had put IIIT Sonepat CSE as 1st priority and I got it in 2nd round. The whole admission process was very smooth.
