Upraising institute

I chose this course due to my interest in mechanical engineering. The faculty-student ratio in IIITDMK is 1:15. All the faculty teaching in IIITDMK are Ph.D. scholars. They teach pretty good and decent. The medium of instruction is English. Especially the mechanical faculty is very good. The mid-semester exams are conducted with a gap of 35-40 days. They are conducted twice a semester. The difficulty of exams is moderate.

Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester. Student goes through a compulsory internship in the 6th semester. Many companies visited our college in the year 2021-2022 like Google, Accenture, Amazon, Mahindra, Aditya Birla etc. The highest package in college was 30 lpa. The average package is 8 lpa across all branches. 90% of students were placed in the year 2021-22.

The fees are assigned by the central government college association. The fee hike is generally about 10%. The fee for a 4-year course in IIITDMK is approximately 8 to 9 lakhs. The scholarships which students can avail are for SC/ST category people which they can avail through the National Scholarship Portal. Students can even avail of education loans. The college even offers students internship opportunities and job offers which are quite good

The annual cultural fest is Samgatha which is held in March or April. The annual technical fest is Vasisht held in November. Students are free to borrow books and magazines from Knowledge Plaza which is also the Library for our college. The books are available on academic subjects and other vast subjects. Every classroom has a projector and screen for its display and a chalkboard. The sports amenities are also quite good with various sports courts and grounds. There are various technical and cultural clubs in which students can join and discover their passion.

Every hostel room has 1 fan and 1 tubelight. If the room is double sharing then it has 2 beds. Each room has a balcony attached to it. The mess food is quite ok. The college arranges variety of food for students and taste is also quite ok. The registration process for hostel is normal process when you reach your respective college. Staying in hostels is not compulsory for students. They can even come to college from their home or their rented room

The eligibility for the mechanical course is 75% marks in 12th standard. We should also be qualified in Jee mains. We can get admission into IIITDMK through JOSAA counselling and CSAB. We can apply to Jee mains through the NTA website. Details of reservation categories and their composition of seats can be seen in the JOSAA seat matrix. The admission process is very transparent and needs no changes
