Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very good and efficient. The learning environment is calm and composed and the teachers are helpful. There's a plethora of student projects and clubs which help in the overall development of students. The infrastructure is great and the labs are well. The student-to-faculty ratio is good which provides ample opportunities to every student. Almost all faculties have a Ph.D and some of those who don't are pursuing it currently. The exams are timely and not that difficult to pass if you put in actual effort.
Internships Opportunities
The companies that visit the campus are big MNCs such as Microsoft, Nvidia, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, and various other domestic and international giants hiring people from all departments based on needs.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester onwards, although internship opportunities are there from the 5th sem itself. A plethora of core companies visit the campus and they hire students of all disciplines from different branches. The highest package offered was 54 Lpa, and the average is around 10-12 Lpa. Almost 75-80% of students get placed each year.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are a bit costly but I feel it's worth it. There are plenty of scholarships available which are both merit and merit cum needs-based scholarships. The job opportunities are ample and hundreds of companies visit every year and give out jobs to many deserving candidates.
Campus Life
The annual tech fest is the Tech Tatva which is conducted in October just after midsems providing students with relief from the hectic schedule for a week. It is a week-long event and various guest speakers come to speak. The cultural fest is Revels which is held in March. All the course curriculum books are available in the multi-floored library. Several fiction and non-fiction books are available. The classrooms are fitted in with air conditioning and provided with good quality desks and chairs. The projectors are present in each classroom which helps in course delivery. There are facilities for all types of sports on the campus. There's a football ground, a hockey ground and the all too popular Marena, a multi-sport faculty which has all facilities ranging from gyms to saunas to swimming pools. There are a plethora of student clubs and student projects, completely managed by and for students.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are good and comfy. Students are provided with a table, chair, beds, mattresses and toiletries. There are several food courts and messes available and students can register for any of them based on their preference. The food is good but it could be better, the menu is made weekly and it has a healthy balance of north and south Indian cuisine.
Admission
The eligibility is 60 per cent in Class 12th boards, in maths, physics and chemistry/biology. The application form is available 3-4 months before the conduct of the exam which is known as MET(Manipal Entrance Test). The exam is usually conducted in 2 phases in May and July. Overall the application process process is very smooth and the counseling process is very user-friendly.
