NMIT- from a fresher POV

I have chosen CSE out of my own interest in programming. And as of now, the teaching is decent. So, we have Three mid-semester examinations, and something called Learning Activities which are like surprise tests, our activity in classes, and Sem end examination, among all these 100 marks are divided per subject in each semester. Passing the subjects is at a difficulty level of medium.

Students become eligible for placements from their 7th semester and 5th if they are good enough. Companies like Amazon and Microsoft visited and made a few offers. Mass recruiters to visit like TCS, Cognizant, etc. The highest package offered was around 30 and I hear the average package for CSE is around 6 LPA. Almost more than 95 percent of students get placed provided they are academically eligible. After my degree, I would like to grab a placement and start working.

Being a COMEDK student college fee is around 2.6 lakh per year and the hostel fee is 1.15 lakh as of now per year. And these fee details are likely to increase with each year. For a COMEDK student staying inside the hostel on campus, it would cost around 15L to 16L for the college and hostel fees. This number doesn't include your extra expenses like writing material, extra canteen expenses. There are no scholarships or assistance particularly awarded by the college. Except you come through the KCET exam taken by only Karnataka local students, and if you qualify for their reservation categories there are good scholarships available.

Anaadyanta is the annual fest which is very good and conducted around March of every year. The library has all the study material required for the exams but doesn't have many novels, fiction, or reading books. The classroom has a projector and comfortable benches. Very good sports and extracurricular activities opportunities are available. There are many clubs that are quite active. For example, the satellite club has tie-ups with ISRO and works with them. The Robotics Club is also quite active.

I am currently pursuing BE CSE and my eligibility to pursue this course was to have passed 10+2 from any recognized board. There are three ways to join the college, Management, KCET Exam, or through the COMEDK Exam. I joined through the COMEDK 2023 Exam and for CSE the cutoff was around the rank 7500. If a student joins through KCET He/she can avail of Reservation benefits. One improvement that can be made in the admission process is not having two different examinations KCET and COMEDK for admissions. instead, one common exam for both localities of Karnataka and nonlocalities can be organized.
