Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I was inclined towards the Physics field and so I wanted to pursue Post Graduation. Here, at NIT Jalandhar, the student-teacher rapport is great and all the faculties are well-qualified and they hold Ph.D.s in their respective fields. We follow a 6-month semester method as end-semester exams are conducted once every six months.

Internships Opportunities

4

We, MSc Physics students, usually do internships and scholarships under various Professors at various institutes. We did projects in IISER TVM in the field of Semiconductors. The stipend wasn't given there.

Placement Experience

3.5

Normally, final-year students are eligible for placements. For our course, Ed-Tech companies like Physicswallah, Unacademy, etc are yet to visit us. For Btech and Mtech courses, a lot of companies come for placements. Last year, 65LPA was the highest package offered. My plan is to do research.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure here is much more than what the average family can afford. I applied for various financial aid but wasn't approved since there were only limited opportunities. Since my course is research-oriented, there are fewer chances to get a job other than teaching and the Ed-Tech field.

Campus Life

4.5

Yeah, we have test fests named TechNITI and cultural fests of each and every state. We have a common cultural fest named Utkansh. The library here is very helpful as they provide a lot of books. Classrooms are well managed. Apart, sports and extracurricular activities are also active.

Admission

I applied for the JAM exam first and after that, I got an AIR Rank of 2204. I come under the OBC Category and hence through CCMN, I got admission to NIT Jalandhar. The admission process is much more advanced. CCMN was doing a great job.

Placement Experience:

Last year of course we are eligible for placement. Many Pharmaceutical companies like Akums Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Indswift Ltd, jubilant, SRF Ltd., etc. As well as many Institutions like Akash, Buyjus, etc. also visit our university to provide jobs to the students. The average annual price of the package is 3-7 lakhs which will vary from department to department. An average percentage of around 60% would be eligible to appear in the interview but the further process depends on the placement committee. I will do P.hD. after completion of my course.
