SLIET: most honest Review

Best branch is Mechanical engineering , students friendly department of SLIET. Most Professor are PHD holder mostly from IITS and NITS. Exams are easy to moderate. 90% students generally pass . Faculty to students ratio is above average.

Some students got Mahendra Scholarship that also provide paid Internship. Less paid internship is provided by the college. College should improve paid internship. Most students do internship and training form government organisation liks DRDO , ISRO , Indian Railways BLW , NTPC , Thermal Power Plant etc. Students have various research project like drone ,UAV , autonomous vehicles, agricultural machinery etc.

From 3rd semester students are eligible for PPO. 4th have compulsory eligible for placements. Companies like JSW , TCS , COGNIZANT, WIPRO, JINDAL AND SAW , ISSAC , L&T , Asainpaint , Mahendra , Infosys , Godrej . Paper mill and Local industries based on Ludhiana . Highest on campus was 10 lakhs given by JSW . The students prefer GATE , UPSC IES and CSE , Railway JE and higher studies from IITs and Foreign University.

10% Fees hike generally takes place . This college have low fees as compared to the facilities given to students. Whole B.tech will be completed within 4 to 5 lakhs . Fees waiver are being provided to students who have economically weak background. Placement is average 4-5 lakhs . Core branches get placed to . Machanical and Computer science have higher placement ratio.

1.TECHFEST SLIET is annual technical festival, students from different colleges takes part in SLIET EVENT. 2. MADHURAM is annual Cultural fest of SLIET . 3. NAVEDYAM is annual Ethics and Food fest of SLIET. °University lacks books and Journal in library. Though online library is with multiple computers has been provided. °Classroom of ELECTRONIC block are equipped with modern amenities. Rest are just as govt college but continue Upgradation is taking place. °College provides all the sports ground with dedicated Athletes Ground, Football Ground, Lawn Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton ,Squash And Gym is present in SAC building. °Multiple Technical and Social club present in SLIET . Technical Club like MAVERICKS and ENDEAVOUR takes lead in competition in IITS , Winner at IIT ROPAR, IIT DELHI, IIT BOMBAY, IIT BHU , IIT KANPUR,NIT JALANDHAR and many more. SAE SLIET is automobile Club of SLIET participate in PAN India SAE event. SVIESA is the Media club of SLIET .

There are 10 boys hostel and 4 girls hostel but with curfew timing , for summer 10pm for boys and 7pm for girls . For, winter 9:30 pm for boys and 6pm for girls. Meal quality is average or below average with basic meal . All students should take hostels compulsory exception for local students . Hostel fees is 10 k year and Mess Fees is 100 rupees per day that's 3000 per month. Locality is remote 18 kms from nearest railway station Sangrur , Village side location . No PG facility.

1.Admission is Through JEE MAINS and CSAB for UG 1st year. 2.Admission from Lateral entry LEET is for UG 2nd Year. 3.ICD that's Diploma admission is from SLIET Entrance Test (SET) Seat is reserved for different reserved classes according to government of India. From UG second year 33.3% seat is for JEE MAINS students, 33.3 % for LEET entry and 33.3% for Diploma topper.
