NIT Rourkela Review

I chose this course because it provides a variety of opportunities in industries like Pharmaceuticals, petroleum, etc. Faculty: The student ratio in my branch is nearly 1:80. The faculty members are very highly qualified and their teaching, method is fine on average. The term exams are held timely. Each sem has 4 months, at the end of the 2nd month midsems are held and at the last of the 4th month endsems are held. The exams are moderate in terms of difficulty, provided you study timely.

Various companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Barclays, Exxon Mobil, BPCL, come here for internships with handy stipends. Students need to clear the online tests, and then appear for interview processes which may differ for companies but generally include Group discussion, technical round and HR Round.

Students after 6th semester become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visited our college like Amazon, Microsoft, Barclays, Oracle, Qualcomm, Tata, etc. The highest package offered was 52 lacs and the average package offered is of 9.18 lacs. The percentage of students getting placed is above 95 percent. I also have a plan of getting a job after getting this degree.

The fee structure is fair, and you get most of the facilities that you pay for. The campus has a lot of greenery in it with proper maintenance and cleanliness. There are a lot of scholarships available for economically poor students, and many more students based on categories.

The annual tech fest INNOVISION is held at the start of November. The cultural Fest NITRUTSAV is held in the mid of March. The multi-ethnic Fest is held in the midweek of January. There are also fests like Garden Fest and Hostel fests which are helpful for all the hostels. Nearly all the books are found in the Central Library Biju Patnaik Central Library. The classes are mostly held in Lecture Avenue which are air conditioned. Nearly all the sports facilities are there in our college and students can improve their skills in extracurricular activities.

All basic facilities like a fan, Tubelight, almirah, LAN ports, tables, chairs, and bed are provided. Meal quality is good and the menu is also good except for a few days. Registration of Hostels is done when a students reports to the institution after admission.

The admission process may vary slightly depending on the program applied for. I can provide you with the undergraduate process. Undergraduate admission Btech: Candidates must appear for JEE Main and thus they are required to qualify it based on the score they get they have to clear the cutoff for admission in the required branch of this institution. After the JEE main results are declared the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts the admission process for NITs. Based on the choices made by the candidates and their JEE main ranks, JoSAA allocates seats in various rounds. Once a seat is allocated candidates need to pay the admission fees and complete the formalities to take admission.
