Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have chosen mechanical engineering because I am interested in automation and robotics. There are approximately 150 students in our branch and each 20 students are given a single mentor. The batch is distributed in 6 sections. The student teacher ratio is quite good. All the faculties are highly qualified some are listed in the top 42 professors released by Stanford University. Some professors are from IISC Bangalore and also IITs. There are Two class tests and one mid-semester every semester (6 months) and the difficulty level is quite good.

Internships Opportunities

4

Approx all faang companies allow our college. Some senior students got internships in Google and Microsoft. One of our seniors got placed in De Shaw. And many seniors got to intern at Accenture. The main project is a Drone made by our seniors of mechatronics clubs.

Placement Experience

5

Students become eligible for placements after 6 semesters and the intern starts after 4 semesters. Some big companies are Google, Adobe, Meta, and approximately all big companies. In mechanical tata, BMW, Honeywell, Accenture. The highest package was 85 lakhs and the average of 10 lakhs. Approximately 90+% students are placed and in mechanical it is 100% . I am Targeting for BMW company after my degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

This university is the best University in terms of ROI. The total fee of Engineering courses in our university is 10k for 4 years (3000/yr) except IT branch as this branch's fee is (25000/yr) Some students got an SVMCM scholarship of 60000 per year, and some got PMSS also there is a scholarship for girls children and SC/ST students. But the scholarship is only for poor students in a general family income of less than 2.5 Lakh.

Campus Life

5

There are several fests in our university. The main fest is Sanskriti and it is organized in Feb. There is a Central Library and each library is for the departmental students. The classroom is also good but no air conditioner. The sports facility is good but not good for engineering students as the equipment is mainly for the physical education department. There are 20+ societies in our college. The photography club is the most liked in our college. The coding culture is overall not like nits, iits.

Admission

I am ANIRBAN BISWAS of Mechanical Engineering undergraduate 1. The admission is done through WBJEE. My rank is 1839 in WBJEE. The Exam is Conducted in West Bengal every year in April. The students mainly Focus on Jadavpur University as it is NIRF 10 in Engineering and a Tier 1 college. The application fees will be 400 for general students and the website is the official website of wbjee. In Jadavpur University 90% of seats are reserved for West Bengal Students. The Caste reservation is also applied in the admission process. The Admission process of this university is fine and very fast. The campus life is very good and Traditional.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
