- Infrastructure- Vit chennai has a campus of 197 green campus with tall buildings and clean and green
- Labs - the lab facilities provided at Vit chennai are the best and have every equipment required .
Dislikes
- Strict Hostel rules-Their are strict in timings after which students cannot go out in the campus for boys 9 P.M and for girls it is 8P.M which is sometimes very early as compared to other colleges and wifi and Ac are for limited hours only
- Strict Dress codes for girls and boys and are fined if they are not according to the warden
- Less freedom for students especially girls especially because of their too strict in timing and dress code
Course Curriculum Overview
EEE is the core electrical branch and it was my area of interest and Vit gives good placement opportunities for the field .Vit helps knowledgeable faculty for all subjects they are helpful to students but are are very strict regarding attendance.All the teachers are phd in their respective fields and teach using theoretical as well as practical ways .There are 3 sets pf exams every semester in which the 2nd (CAT2) set of exam is open book which is difficult and CAT1 is easy .They are held accordingly with the sem duration.
Internships Opportunities
Vit helps you get internships with top technical firms and even students are offered a PPO(Pre-placement offer) during their internship months and are even given stipend during the internship period .Vit forwards mails to students which they get from different companies regarding recruitment of interns.
Placement Experience
Vit offers many placement as well intership opportunities from various multinational companies which include the core as well the it companies to students.Many companies like Microsoft., Amazon, HCLTech TCS WIPRO come to the campus with job opportunities.The average package at Vit Chennai is 800000 and the student placement rate is 99percent . After completing my bachelor's i aim at getting a job and then furthur go for Post graduation.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees structure is based upon the rank you get in Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination.The branch is also decided according to the ranks and fees structure is decided accordingly
Campus Life
The annual fest organized by Vit is Vibrance organized in the month of march every year and the tech fest organized is called TechnoVIT organized in the month of october .Their is Central library in the chennai campus with a huge variety of books related to multiples fields and branches.The sports facilities at vit chennai are satisfactory only as there are small grounds for both football and cricket.Vit has many technical, literary as well as other clubs which organize various events .
Hostel Facilities
Vit provides hostel facilities for every student living outside the 80km range of the college.The rooms provided by Vit are AC and Non AC including 6bed 4bed and 2bed options.It is mandatory for hostellers to take a mess which includes Veg Nonveg and Special(both veg and nonveg food is provided) the mess hygiene is good and the food is average.The hostel registeration is done online through the VTOP site after the campus and course allotment. According to me the hostel fees is high.
Admission
For admission students are required to fill up a application form and then a exam is conducted by Vit as the entrance examination the application form is available on the official site of vit called vtop the application form fees is 1500rupees for all the Indian citizens talking about this people from any country can apply for admission into VIT .The only improvement i see is that VIT should provide more examination centres.
