Memories of College

I chose this course because I liked the subjects and only Computer Science and circuital branch students are allowed to sit for major Software companies and I want to be a Software Development Engineer Faculty:Student ratio is well and good. There are sufficient faculty members for students to teach. Faculty here is well qualified and educated and also well experienced. Teaching method is a bit traditional from some teachers side. Attendance system is also very poor and its like 75% criteria should be maintained. Time doesn't flow slow in case of exams. When you give one exam just after one month you will feel like there is another exam. Its not that difficult to pass exams. If u study honestly before 3 weeks of exams then u can easily score 8 to SGPA that u can maintain your CGPA

From 3rd year students become eligible for internships and From 4th year eligible for placements. Many companies visit to our campus for plcacements like Texas Instruments, Oracle, Accenture, P&G, Qualcomm, SAP Labs, Tata Steel Limited, Wells Fargo, Natwest, Mathworks, etc. There is around 1600 total offers made. Highest package is around 45LPA. Avg is around 12 LPA. This is almost same for all profiles. Almost 99% placement. Obviously placement. If not then GATE- MTECH

Fees must be high for many students depending on the financial background of students. And also for reservations there is fees discount for them. The cost to study here is the whole semester fess including the mess hostel fees and there is different other money that u need for like clothes partying outside other than mess canteen eating, etc There are also scholarship opportunities coming for students from the college side and also from government and other organisation side. There is like Reservation scholarships, Outside country scholarships, scholarship from Relaince, etc I'm currently in 3rd year and there are internship opportunities coming for us now. Campus placements will start from next year from the month of July. Now I haven't got any internship but soon I will get and tell u the stipend I'll be getting.

Annual/Cultural fest is Nitrutsav that is conducted in the month of March. Techfest is Innovision and it is conducted in the month of November. Almost all books and journals are available in the library but its not required because all students almost study from pdf's only. Amenities in classroom are fans lights. There are also Air Conditioners which we can use during summer time classes. There are also projects and smart board available in classes. Sports facility is not up to the mark in our college. Only some sports have good facility but others don't. Extra curricular activities are well performed in college. Social group like SDG, Leo Club of NIT Rourkela, Rotaract club, etc. Clubs like Cyborg, APS, GTA, Short-Circuit, CEST, etc. Websites of their respective clubs and fests in college like Innovision, Nitrutsav, etc

Not that good facility provided in rooms. I live in double room with another roommate but actually the room is made for a single person. Also, only one LAN port provided for both of us. So, there problem occurs sometimes. Also, internet speed is not that good. Meal quality is nice if you compare with other colleges in India among govt. colleges. Good options for non-vegetarians but repeated paneer curry for vegetarians which feels very annoying really. Hostel is alloted aytomatically by the college. Hostel fees is also affordable of around 10000/year. I live in Satish Dhawan (SD) hall of residence.

Eligibility of the course was to have min of 60% in the 12th boards. After giving JEE Mains and after JEE Advanced there is this JoSAA Counselling where we fill up college preferences and then according to our All India Rank we get the respective college. Then after locking the college we get to fill up different application forms of the college and after paying the fees we get admission in the college. Mine reservation was OBC-NCL where I got a little benefit. For reservations there is a separate reservation All India Rank where there is easy to get college in comparison to the General Sections of students. There should be improvement in the admission process that is in the rerservation section like the SC/ST's get a very much benefit in that where there are students who even are from rich family background but easily get admissions but the actual deserving students don't get their deserved college.
