Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I chose the course because it has great placement record and my interest towards chemical engineering industry. The faculty student ratio is excellent in the department as well as the entire college. There is approximately 1:10 faculty student ratio in our college and students are well guided by the faculties. The faculties have excellent research background from their PhDs. All most all of the faculties have done their PhD in IITs/IISc and some of them have done their post doctoral research in universities in US/EU and some of them Ivy leagues too. Exams are farely timely and it is relatively easier to pass the exams. It is tough to score EX grade but a decent grade of A/B isn't very hard to achieve if there are no gradebacks and classes are well tended to.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Texas Instruments( sde,digital,analog internship - 45000 stipend) Microsoft(sde internhip- 150000 stipend) Qualcomm(sde,digital internship-45000 stipend) UiPath(sde internship-150000 stipend) ExxonMobil(core internship- 35000 stipend) Wells Fargo(core internship- 100000 stipend) Oracle(sde internship-150000 stipend) Barclays(sde internship-125000 stipend)

Placement Experience

4

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Almost all top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Apple , Samsung, Nvidia, Qualcomm, Intel, Exxon Mobil, Jaguar, TATA steel, Morgan Stanley, BNY Mellon, etc visit the campus. Some PSUs like IOCL, GAIL,BPCL, etc also visit the campus on their requirement for electrical, mechanical, chemical branches. Highest package was offered by Ui Path which was 96 lpa and usually AWS / Microsoft are the 2nd highest packages with 54 and 52 lpa. Usually the placement percentage is more than 90% and is often more than 98% in top branches. My plans after degree is to join a FAANG company.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees hike rarely happens in our college and I believe our college is providing excellent infrastructure and hostel facilties at very cheap cost. Our college supports lower income families by reducing the tuition fees from 62500 to 20833. We can also various scholarships Alumni scholarship, FFE, etc to support the students. Students can also earn money by working as student mentors in ICS( Institute councelling services) and the stipend is 5000.

Campus Life

4.5

There 3 important fests of our college. Innovision (Tech fest which happens around mid october- november). Cosmopolitan( cultural diversity fest happens around january) . Nitrutsav(cultural fest which happens around march month). Books and journals are available in the library .A Very advance library equipments are available and all the books are updated. Amenities in classrooms and Lecture Halls are well maintained and proper to cater to the needs of the students. Sports like football, cricket ,volleyball ,badminton, table tennis ,basketball, etc are very much important here. We have a huge stadium for hockey/football (DTS stadium) and for cricket we have Sachin Tendulkar ground and for basketball/tennis we have PT Usha complex. There many cultural and tech clubs. All under the SAC( Student Activity Centre).

Hostel Facilities

4

Lan port is provided in room and 1 fan, 2 chairs, 2 tables and shelf is provided. Food quality depends on hostel and is very good in some hostels to average in some. Registration for hostel is done duirng admission and room is alloted when u reach campus. Hostels are very affordable and cheap.

Admission

First of all to be eligible for the course we need have minimum 75% in 12th boards exam and a minimum JEE main rank of 27k in general category. For other categories u can see the previous year JEE main cutoffs in official site. Application form is through the JOSAA/CSAB portal and fees is 20000 for JOSAA and admission is 40000. Application dates start after the JOSAA councelling. There is 50% home state qouta for the students of Odisha and the reservation for reserved categories is same as for JEE MAIN/ADVANCE. Admission process is very smooth and without any hassle if one follows the instruction and we should always use the institute contact number if we face any doubts during the admission process.

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Students are eligible for placement from their 3rd year onwards. It has been only 2-3 months but I have seen several companies arriving at the college, prominent ones being Flipkar,Deloitte, Xerox, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Microsoft, Dell and several others including startups. There is no accurate data on how many offers have been made this year, but there are rumours that more than 95% of the eligible students have got placements. After getting a degree my plans are if I dont land into a satisfying job then I will start my preparation of the military or start a new business.
