Satyawati - the underrated college of DU

I am pursuing CA along with college so I opted for bcom hons as this course is related to CA so it provides me with some ease. Student ratio is somewhat 60:40 of boys and Girls respectively. Factulty of my department is wonderful and i don't know much about other departments but to my knowledge faculty of all the departments are just very good. Almost all the teachers are phd holders and some of them also have completed professional courses such as Charted accountants. Teaching method is the typical old style only- blackboard and chalk. Practical exams are till now are of moderate level not much difficult to clear.

Fees is very nominal i.e. 16500 per annum for my course. And college also provide many scholarship and benifits and rebate for the underprivileged students and who belongs to low financial groups. Placements are okay not much good but it is fine keeping in mind that we are only graduated.

For a first year student like me..I found lack of colleges events and fests in the college. Some of the fests happened such as national cinema day ..diwali mela but they were not so enjoyable or happening in my opinion. Fresher's event was good and enjoyable. All the useful books are available in the library and journals too .you can issue books from the library using your college id itself. There are no as such aminities in the classroom only a board and desks as normally it should be. There is a ground where you can play many games and there is one volleyball court too.. sports equipments can also be issued from sports room by college id itself.. there is one gym too. There are many societies active in the college in which students can enroll for non academic activities and personal development in the field of their interest.

So Admission was based on cuet only..the cut for my course ( bcom hons ) was around 690 + for general category students. I scored around 701 in cuet and got Satyawati college ( Morning) in first round..as all the students do - I applied for upgrade but that didn't in further rounds..all the information about fees of the college was informed in the cuet portal itself. One thing I want to improve in this process is that .. we should be given at least choice between 2 3 colleges in which we are applicable or our score matches thier cutoffs.
