Remarks

Overall, the college is a perfect blend to seek education in mix with with leisure opportunities. College management is overall good and efficient enough to keep working in an effective manner to make SBSC an unforgettable experience for all it's students.

Entrance Preview

I got to enter into SBSC by having scored 94.5% marks (Best four) in AISSCE, 2017.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Bcom (Hons), comes out to be a much more structured course with having an edge over better placement opportunities in future. The curriculum for study is not very vast but definitely provides a new direction of knowledge to commerce students, helping them to keep a hold over subjects in pursuing higher degrees such as CA & MBA.

Internships Opportunities

The college is set up with an Internship society I.e. Encode, which works in the most amazing manner by making students avail the internship opportunities around them. Students have successfully grabbed an internship opportunity in the top companies such as Deloitte and EY. Also, Encode helps to give a rise to the career of inexperienced and first-year students by making them meet with excellent internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

SBSC has got an excellent placement record in the past. Being in operation with one of the most active Placement cells of Delhi University, SBSC got blessed with having all Big four companies visiting at for an on campus placement drive. The average package offered varied from 3 to 3.5 lakhs per annum, while highest package got striked up at 15 lakh per annum.

College Events

4

SBSC is highly active and involved in promoting new cultural as well as educational events and fests. It frequently organizes several seminars and lectures by various eminent personalities around to guide it's students for a better career growth in their respective fields. Also, the college celebrates it's annual cultural fest of two days every year in the month of February-March for giving a day off to leisure to its students. The fest is well organized and decorated with many cultural events followed by a special star night every year

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a unit of goverment colleges of Delhi university, the fees structure for SBSC is very feasible. The annual fees for Bcom(Hons) rounds upto 6K for first year. There's no hidden or extra fees except for a nominal examination fees which is charged from a student within a year of study.

Fees and Financial Aid

There's no such loan facility offered by our college due to its extreme feasible fees structure. But the college takes up an initiative of providing scholarships to students having scored well and standing in merit position in the examinations held within the college.

Campus Life

3.5

There is an acceptable gender ratio with almost same number of girls and boys studying in SBSC. Although, the campus is not very big but still ends up giving a perfect college feel to its students with an active environment and a much happening canteen. Societies in the college are extremely active and responsive towards organizing various events on a regular basis to provide a life to college campus. Various competitions are organized throughout the year, which are usual crowded with students from other colleges as well.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is flexible and resembling to many other colleges around. Like any other college of Delhi university, SBSC too works on a CBCS examination system. Exams are held twice in a year i.e. in the gap of 6 months. Almost all major courses here are divided into 6 semesters, settled in 3 years duration for any particular course. Also, curriculum is equipped with several internal examinations at regular interval playing a major role in calculating the final results.

Admission

The procedure for getting into the college is very similar to admission procedure for any other college of Delhi university. One needs to clear the high cutoffs in the desired course and if fortunate enough, next step comes to document verification along with paying a nominal registration fees in the college. Later, when all documents and cutoff are verified, you can easily be admitted into your preferred course in the college.

Faculty

4

The faculty of SBSC is well qualified and highly supportive in providing guidance to their students. They also seem quite involved in solving the doubts of students by taking extra classes at regular intervals.Non teaching staff in the college is also working very actively to give a right of assistance to their students and all their queries. Also, regularity of classes by teachers is something which outshines SBSC from any other college of Delhi university.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
